I came across the French Quarters by chance, after I had a previous reservation in another place cancelled just a month away from my trip. On my hotel hunt I was aiming for a good location in Midtown, mainly on Hells Kitchen and I found The French Quarters, with very high praises and good reviews. One person even said that... More

Great place to stay. Charming Hotel, with very nice employies. I loved the amenties from L'Occitane. We got married in New York, and the hotel gave us a comlimentary bottle of Prosecco. Very central in Hells Kitchen district. Close to Times Square. Great bar in the hotel. Will come back!!

My wife and I stayed here for just one night recently but the double double room was excellent. The room was clean and roomy with comfortable beds. The bathroom was very nice with a great shower, plenty of hot water and good water pressure. Also, the bathroom was very clean. Having a proper fridge was really nice too for grabbing... More

Good location to base yourself. There are a number of bars down on the street below so try and get a higher room to avoid noise. Breakfast was ample and good service from the front desk. Good value for money in a city where accommodation can be pricey!

We stayed at French Quarters twice, and each time it was excellent. location, obviously, can't be beat. Each time we had a room booked above the bar, and each time we were upgraded to a quiet larger room. Linens, shower, decor - everything is fresh and exciting. We walked to Broadway performances and picked up snacks at Food Emporium. Taxis... More

This is my second stay here, and the first for my daughter. Fantastic stay for a week - we were really lucky and were upgraded to a suite at the top floor. The pluses - the suite was large, immaculately clean with very comfortable beds & great bathroom amenities. There were helpful and very friendly staff (with a special mention... More

Stayed here just under a week while mid way through our U.S. trip. We booked a queen room and were upgraded to a king room (thanks guys!). Wow, the room has to be the best I've stayed in during my visits to NYC. Great size bed, overlooking the busy road (this didn't bother us) with two or three windows. The... More

As we were New York for seven nights we wanted something comfortable, central and not requiring us to take out a mortgage for. The French Quarters is very nicely presented and furnished in a French Colonial style. It is modest and welcoming without being pretentious. Our room had no view (unless you like looking at air conditioning units) and while... More

The French Quarters is pretty unassuming on arrival, but the nice surprise is that the rooms are lovely, big and beautifully decorated. Bathroom nice too with L'Occitane products. Wifi works fine. Loved the room, bit of noise at night, but for Manhattan very good. Close to lots of nice places to eat. Staff on check-in could be a bit more... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
