I was concerned about staying in a NY hotel bc I'm a light sleeper and there are ambulances and fire trucks everywhere you go. This is a quiet hotel about 8 blocks south of soho at a very reasonable price. Staff very helpful and were eager to assist. I had trouble finding a wells fargo bank and concierge Frank made... More

Read the reviews prior to going and expected a lot better. The bathrooms lack privacy and lighting is very harsh. The hotel is right next to a subway entrance/exit so if one knows how to navigate NY subway, great location. Otherwise lots of walking to other sites and bureaus. The staff is not knowledgeable about the city nor are they... More

I was thrilled to have found this hotel for my annual business trips to New York, as recent experiences with some of the more mainstream brands around Downtown have been pretty miserable. The Smyth stands out, offering the service standards you would expect from a larger brand, while at the same time adding character and boutique chic. The rooms are... More

It was a rainy morning when my cab pulled up to the Smyth Hotel on 85 West Broadway. Before I was even out of the cab, Danny the wonderful doorman, had retrieved my luggage, showed me inside and directed me to check-in, where I was greeted by the most helpful and cheerful staff. Although I arrived before check-in, the staff... More

My family stayed at the Smyth twice a week over a period of 3 months while my son was in a Broadway show so we spent a LOT of time there. We have nothing but positive things to say about this wonderful hotel. Yes, of course the hotel is fabulously decorated, extremely clean and perfectly located, but the real standout... More

Arriving late in the evening and tired after a long fight and day, the reception I received was first class, as was my room and the service. The decor of the entire hotel is first class as is the attentio one receives as a guest. The location is great with a wonderful simple restaurant right next door. When I next... More

My daughter and I spent two nights here to explore New York City. So glad we stayed here, instead of the hustle and bustle of mid-town. Tribeca has a wonderful, neighborhood feel, and not over-run by groups of tourists. Its convenient to lots of great restaurants, and Whole Foods is only a few blocks away. Zuckers bagel around the corner... More

I'm extremely picky about hotels. I stayed at the Smyth for two nights and loved it. The staff are friendly and helpful. It's modern, comfortable and clean. And quiet. My room was a good size, and although I was a bit worried it might be noisy (second floor, facing the street), it was really quiet. The bed was super-comfortable. LOVED... More

We stayed in the hotel for 4 nights with my stepdaughters. The hotel is situated in Tribeca which has more of a neighbourhood feel. The rooms are large by NYC standard and very comfortable. The staff are helpful and polite, the concierge was very knowledgeable tours, attractions and restaurants It made a huge difference having the subway right outside the... More

My boyfriend and I often stay at the Thompson Hotel in the Lower East Side and absolutely adore it for its impeccable rooms, bar areas, and wonderfully helpful and friendly staff. Thus, we decided to stay at their other property the Smyth and were terribly disappointed. We purchased music on our television to listen to, and heard loud knocking on... More
