We stayed here over Thanksgiving weekend, and were comped to a room that included a bathroom. The hotel was clean and is very well located, near the subway and within walking distance of the Empire State Building. For the price we paid we were exceptionally happy with the value we received, and will definitely be back in the future.

This charming hotel is not that far from Penn Station. It took us 15 minutes in the pooring rain, but totally not worth taking the subway (transferring). I already read here about the advantages of the central location, which I only can confirm. Our room was located on the third floor. View was far from perfect, right next to the... More

After a second visit, still highly recommend this hotel. It is small, quiet, nicely old-fashioned, very clean, and the prices are excellent. Super location off Lexington Ave, two blocks from the subway. The staff is helpful and friendly. Nothing fancy, just solid value and decent people. No worries about "small" rooms, they are perfectly big enough. Even the shared bathrooms... More

Hotel 31 looks great online, and it is. I felt safe, it was in a decent neighborhood. I could walk to anywhere from where I was. It was nice and easy. However, what they don't tell you is how small the rooms are when you arrive. If you don't mind how small the room feels that's okay. Staying there for... More

I stayed in Hotel 31 again and was happy that nothing changed for the worse. Still good, helpful service at the front desk. My room was tiny but clean and the bathroom on the floor as well, very clean. The only thing I didn't like was that the temperature in my room was too high and I couldn't find how... More

This hotel was room only with shared bathroom which were spotlessly clean and was located just 5 minutes from Fifth avenue one way and Third avenue the other way. The room had no view sadly but maybe that was a good thing as it was quiet as the streets are busy with horns honking and sirens going all the time.... More

Our room was clean (thankfully our room had a private bathroom),the front desk staff were friendly and the price was great for a hotel in NYC. My friend booked the hotel and decided to show me pictures from the reviews on our way to NYC. I was very unhappy ( the hotel appeared to be old and dingy) , but... More

I truly think you'd be hard pressed to find somewhere that's better value for what you pay! Great location, spotlessly clean, lovely staff and nice rooms. Absolutely will be returning next time I'm in NYC.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
