We stayed here for 6 nights in May for the purpose of exploring New York City. We checked in around 9pm and went to our room to discover we have been given a room without a bathroom despite booking one with a bathroom. I went back down to reception and the guy on the desk was quite abrupt telling me... More

We found this hotel after searching on the internet when we were let down by some other accommodation. It was a very good find. A couple of blocks from the Empire State Building Hotel 31 is on 31st street, just round the corner from the 33rd St subway station, two blocks from our favourite diner and within walking distance of... This was my 3rd stay in this hotel and it is still great for people who are looking for a clean place to stay with great location and nice staff. I came early in the morning to check in so I didn't get my room yet but I could leave my luggage at the storage and next day was offered... More

We (2 friends travelling together) booked this motel based on price range and location, having never been to NYC before. What a lucky find! The decor is somewhat dated and nanna-ish, but otherwise this suited us perfectly. We had a double bed each, not the softest bed ever, but adequate. The service was amazing, the staff on the desk were... More

I must have had the worst room- I heard knocking on the shared bathroom doors all night long which frightened me. I also woke up with bumps on my legs - and I'm praying they are not bed bug bites. The bathroom was clean, which I appreciated but I did not feel confident the bedding covers were super clean. It's... More

Chic, clean room, quite small room but really fresh and nice decorated. This is a well located hotel! Therese are some really good restaurants 1 or 2 blocks away, for breakfast etc. Recommend this hotell :)

Hotel 31 was a great location for me - close to some good restaurants and cafes and things I wanted to see in Madison Square. It was surprisingly cheap compared with other hotels in the area, but if you're a solo traveller on a budget it's perfectly adequate. You'll have to share a bathroom, but these are kept very clean... We arrived 6 hours before check in and hoped that the hotel would allow us to store our small bags while we journeyed around NYC. To our surprise we were checked in early and allowed to go right to our room. It was great! The staff was very friendly and courteous. And lets not forget the incredible old time elevator.... More

Stayed here for 3 nights recently, great location. We literally could walk 10 minutes and we'd be at times square! Less than that for empire state and rockerfeller centre. Staff were pleasant, the room was small but comfy. WiFi worked perfectly fine. Maids came by everyday which wasn't needed but was nice of them! The only cons were the TV... More

I was in NY attending to my mom following surgery at NYU Langone. Selected this hotel earlier in the day; room was very clean, service was friendly, and the price was excellent. For a basic stay in a great location near the hospital and other sites, this is a good choice. If you are looking for fancy, this is not... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
