We arrived 6 hours before check in and hoped that the hotel would allow us to store our small bags while we journeyed around NYC. To our surprise we were checked in early and allowed to go right to our room. It was great! The staff was very friendly and courteous. And lets not forget the incredible old time elevator.... More

Stayed here for 3 nights recently, great location. We literally could walk 10 minutes and we'd be at times square! Less than that for empire state and rockerfeller centre. Staff were pleasant, the room was small but comfy. WiFi worked perfectly fine. Maids came by everyday which wasn't needed but was nice of them! The only cons were the TV... More

I was in NY attending to my mom following surgery at NYU Langone. Selected this hotel earlier in the day; room was very clean, service was friendly, and the price was excellent. For a basic stay in a great location near the hospital and other sites, this is a good choice. If you are looking for fancy, this is not... More

Good location and easy access by foot. Great sushi restaurant next door and lots of cafés and restaurants nearby. Hotel itself was ok, a bit scruffy and outdated. I had a room far away from the elevator so it was really quiet and I slept well.

We were a little unsure what to expect when we booked, and when we first arrived... once you get past the tiny (and I mean tiny) elevator and into your room, you realise that its definitely value for money.... I priced other hotels in the area and they were double what we paid! We had a shared bathroom but only... More

We booked for two nights and had read the reviews and weren't sure what to expect. When we arrived they gave us a room with two beds instead of the one we had booked since they had it available. The room was exactly what we needed, comfortable beds and the window air unit provided just the right amount of white... More

Would highly recommend Hotel 31 when staying in New York. Clean, comfortable and conveniently located to all the major attractions, the staff were friendly and helpful and the wifi worked well (room 604). Only small problem that we experiened was the radiator as it was constantly on and at full heat, although we never asked a member of staff for... More

Stayed in room 807 on 8th floor so used the crazy lift - but it does its job. The room we had was with its own bathroom. It was perfectly fine for what we needed. Clean and big enough for two of us. Although if we'd have needed any longer than 5 days we may have struggled with storage as... More

This hotel is a smaller style hotel. Located away from the craziness of Times Sq., it's still very convenient for access to all of NYC. Steps away from the 6 train and Grand Central and Empire State Building. Parking on the street was easy to find (not always so easy in NYC). We had a private bath and our room... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
