I was at King and Grove on second week of June, 2014. They were going through a renovation at that time. The service was not up to the mark. Due to renovation, may be they were facing some challenges. The bottle for shampoo and others were empty, and when I tried to call room service, I could not found any... More

I stayed at this property 2 years ago under the flag Hotel Lola. Back then, I thought it was a great value, and as the King and Grove (soon to be Martha Washington following renovations), it remains as such. Teeny weeny, but high quality rooms are perfect for the lone traveler. Since the lobby was disrupted by the renovation operations,... More

I stayed at the King and Grove (now Martha Washington) in July, 2014. The hotel was in the final throws of renovation, so it is difficult to gauge the lobby and ambiance. The room itself was comfortable - I took a Queen room which was about $180 / night. The price was very competitive for New York. The bed was... More

The hotel was undergoing serious renovation but everything worked well and the staff went out of their way to help and then left us alone to enjoy the city. The coffee in the foyer was a lovely touch - it gave us a chance to chat to other guests. It's close to everything and properly comfortable.

I stayed 3 nights. Shame on me for not knowing it was remodeling. No amenities...not even glasses in the room. I ordered some from room service and they brought me plastic Dixie cups. Don't book a single room...it is the size of a closet !

In the middle of Chelsea. Adequate, clean accommodations and good service. Amenities so so but great place to crash and get on with it;-). Would consider staying again after the the rehab. So far looking good.

We stayed here one night. The hotel is still undergoing major renovations, no lobby to speak of: check-in counter and a few bistro tables (decorated with hideous animal throws). Check in was easy. Our room was upgraded to a double room. I would hate to have seen the standard room, as the double room was quite small (but adequate). Bathroom... More

They are remodeling the hotel, so pretty much you need to enter using the back door (employee's entrance) and there's just this corridor with a note saying "Pardon our Dust" (!!). No service, no restaurant, nothing. The room is pretty tiny, the smallest I ever stayed in Manhattan. Also, the room cleaning service is not that good - I found... More

I stayed here for a wedding. The lobby was fully under construction. We were given no warning when we booked, even considering that we were part of a bridal party so we booked a ton of rooms. The gym was the lobby. Upon arrival, we see a small desk for check in, and nothing but gym equipment and people working... More

Terrible decor in the lobby and hallways - whoever designed that color scheme needs their eyes tested. I'm sure they call themselves an interior designer. By the way, I'm referring to the 'upgraded' decor. Rooms were so-so decor. I see where it was going but it just wasn't pulled together, poor execution. The front desk were bizarre. Not rude. Just...
