Stayed here for six nights last week on our first trip to NYC. Sadly we were not informed that the hotel is undergoing renovations and the whole front foyer, restaurant and bar are closed off. There is a temporary lobby leading to a boarded off corridor and the lifts to the rooms-which is less than inviting and reminded me of... More

Stayed at The King and Grove for 4 nights in February and couldn’t fault it. For what we paid for a central NYC base we could not have expected more. The room wasn’t that big but that was no issue as we didn’t go to NY for the room, the bed was comfortable, great shower, modern furnishings, very clean. We... More

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at the King and Grove for my 40th birthday. After reading some bad/negative comments on here we were dreading what we would find. We have to say that if you have a problem with this hotel then you really must have a problem. Our room was fantastic (upgraded for my 40th... More

The hotel does not look as it is presented on the homepage, due to major contration sites in the entrance. I was upset when I arrived. No bar, no sitting area, a shabby entrance and an uncomprehending staff. However, my room was really fine, clean and quiet.

As with most other reviewers the renovations of this hotel weren't communicated clearly and therefore was disappointing compared to their website. Adding the fact that the entrance is round the back due to this and not where the taxis drop you off it's a bit of a shambles once you arrive. Taking this apart - on the plus side I... More

I guess I should start by saying that last year this was a really great hotel..... Now, Not so much! Have booked to stay here for a week and was slightly upset to pull up in the cab and find that this place is a complete construction zone.... (try and find that information on the website). I expressed my disappointment... More

This is a good hotel, but is now going through major renovation. There is a lot of dust, entrance has changed that creates confusion for car pick up. The service has been ok though. Mind you on higher floor, wifi signal is extremely weak.

Thank you for your review. We apologize for any obstacles our renovations may have caused. We have gone to great lengths to make sure all guests are not affected by our enhancements. We have erected floor to ceiling walls in our lobby and have made sure all reservations are blocked on higher floors away from construction. We do hope you... More

I will start with the positives: Comfy bed, reasonably sized bathroom, safe, wardrobe, decent sized TV and iron/ironing board included. Seemed clean. Good location. As quiet to NY traffic as you're going to get! Bad points: The whole hotel is a building site which I don't mind except that they hardly mention this at all on the website. As such... More

My mother took me here as a gift for my 21st. Considering the places my mother has booked us into before, I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It's not in the most central location, but it wasn't too difficult to find our way around. We were only staying for a long weekend, and the first couple of nights we... More
