If you're looking for a run of the mill, cookie cutter, pretentious hi-rise New York hotel, this ISN'T it. With real charm, modern colorful decor, and very personal service, Hotel Indigo is unique. Located in Chelsea - a great location close to everything in the city but away from the crowds and noise of Times Square and midtown in general,... More

The Hotel Indigo is an "Organic" hotel in the Chelsea area of the city. The room was spacious, clean, and right in midtown. The floors were hardwood. The room had Aveda products in the bathroom which was fabulous. The only weird thing in the room was the bathroom shower. The stall did not have a door, which is the design... More

Hotel located in a nice neighborhood, close to metro station and 10 minutes walk from Times Square. The rooms are spacious, clean and the furniture is modern. The staff is friendly. The only bad thing is breakfast, but the hotel is surrounded by great places that serve good breakfasts in typical American style.

This is a good hotel to stay as all key locations in NYC are close by. Hotel room is tiny but well equipped. complementary wireless in the room is not effective but they have provided two desktops with printing options in the lower lobby level. Their fitness center is well designed, small but has all essential cardio equipment. breakfast was... More

Stayed at H.I. for three nights in mid-May. Business trip; partner accompanied me to take in the sights while I attended a conference. First observations: hotels in NYC are continually under renovation in order to remain competitive - this is fine; the lobby was tarped off with construction. Minor annoyance but could have been noted on website or when reservation... More

I have read some fairly negative reviews, but I do not agree with them at all. I may stay (for two nights) very pleasant. I did stay on Priority Club points so I didn't feel the sting of New York City hotel costs. The biggest negative was the restaurant being under renovation. All staff I spoke with with pleasant and... I cannot say enough about my recent trip to NYC and Hotel Indigo. We booked a large group for my husband's 50th Birthday Party. 10 rooms. ~ Hotel Location: Excellent. Located in Chelsea, 1/3 of a mile from Penn Station. We took the train from Newark Airport and arrived in about 40 minutes. Easy as pie. Faster than a cab.... More

I'll keep this brief. New York Hotels are all very expensive so its with that in mind that I say its good value. Its not right in the mix of NYC but close enough to everything to make it convenient for almost all attractions. A subway stop at the end of the road, a decent breakfast place never more than... The location is not the greatest, especially at night. But the staff was friendly and the hotel was clean. Cannot really complain.

Staying in Chelsea

Neighborhood Profile
Chelsea
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighborhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighborhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighborhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.
