I am writing to verify the reviews by others that mention the amazing rooms, the joyfullness of sleeping to the sounds of the east village and the amazing service provided by both Anne and Maya. I had a fantastic time. Maya is super friendly and helpful. She goes out of her way to try and make sure you have what... More

I am writing to verify the reviews by others that mention the unbearable noise, the impossibility of sleeping unless you are a deep sleeper and the rudeness of the owner. I also had various insults directed at me from Anne when I mentioned the paper thin walls and floors, the banging of footsteps, the sound of conversations as though they... More

I cannot tell you how much we loved the EVBC. The reservation process and response was timely and accurate. Their website gives you everything you need to know. We took the subway in from La Guardia and caught a cab ($5) from the subway station to the EVBC. Let me tell you the rooms are small. We stayed in the... More

I agree Maya is great. She is new to the business and a quick learner. I’ve been training her to take over while I currently run a non-profit to save B&B’s in NYC. (Your stay fell on a crazy week of meetings and media for that effort.) I want to wish you a belated happy birthday! You’re husband was lovely... More

We couldn't recommend this place more. After arriving excitedly in New York Harrison met us at the 'red door' and showed us around. This place is a gem to find, its like home away from home. He then proceeded to spend an hour with us and gave awesome recommendations of where to eat and what to see on our first... More

New York can be an overwhelming experience, especially for two people from a small town in South Africa, but at EVBC you can get advise from the manager, as well as the fellow travellers you meet around the breakfast table. There are good restaurants in walking distance and the bus on the next block, takes you directly to the subway,... More

After a 24 hours of travel from Melbourne arriving at EVBC was fantastic. We were met by Anne who made us very welcome, sharing lots of information about New York and East Village in particular. Our room was spotless and the bed very comfortable (the best so far in our 5weeks of travel) if you don't like sharing a bathroom... More

Evbc is perfect for those who do not want to use a fortune on a hotelroom. No trouble sharing kitchen and bath- on the contrary- you meet nice people at the breakfasttable! The beds are comfortable and the hosts friendly! Recommend the place and the area.

If you want to be in the lap of luxury, or if you need a ton of privacy, then EVB&C is probably not for you. But if you want safe, affordable, sparkling clean accommodations in a great NYC neighborhood, read on. Bedrooms are small but comfortable with shared kitchen, living room and bathroom on each floor. You are likely to... More

Thank you for bringing my attention to the vacuuming issue. I don’t like that either and my housekeeper knows he should not be vacuuming before check-out time or until all guests are up and about. I have reminded him. Regarding my boyfriend’s birthday party that was a last minute decision on his part. I don’t recall even 30 people attending... More
