We enjoy our stay in this little hotel. The staff was nice and helpful. The room were cozy and the one for my kids spacious. Breakfast is fine, you have juice, fruit, bread and tea or coffee. It is in a quiet neighborhood and you can take a nice walk on the east river and grab a coffee on your way... More

First step look at the rates- this is one of the best location at the respective rate in Manhattan. It is at 10 minutes away from Central Park and 20 minutes from all of the big museums. Small room, old furniture - this is the charm of New York . You don't need more than a good bed - and... More

I stayed there with my two daughters (7 and 13) for one night. We were promised two bedroom suite, each with a double bed. When we arrived (at 6pm) the keys were not where they were supposed to be for pick up, which was a little distressing. We knocked at the door to another visitor, who could guide us, how... More

I really enjoyed this hotel. It gave an amazing old New York feel in a great location. We were close enough to get on the metro and subway to go anywhere or just enjoy the awesome shops around the blocks. The value compared is a no brainer! I will definitely be returning to this hotel :-)

What a miserable place. After six o’clock you get an email telling you how to get in. No one had warned me, so it was just lucky that my iPhone can get emails. If the hotel planned (as it seems it does) to have no one on duty after six, they should have alerted me at booking and asked if... More

This place was a huge disappointment! HUGE!!! We stayed from 10/16-10/19 and if I hadn't already paid in full I would've left after the first 5 minutes. I should have known something wasn't right when Gracie Inn charged by credit card 5 days before checking in. I called to ask why they hadn't waited till I check in on 10/16... More

Dear ZGirlAmy, At the Gracie Inn Hotel, we take customer service very seriously so we are disappointed when we find reviews like this from any guest who had anything less than a pleasurable experience. It is true that the city was doing some routine maintenance on the plumbing system, turned off our hot water, and forgot to turn it back... More

Where to start. This hotel was really really reaaaaaaally NASTY. Overpriced dirty and the website is misleading/ false advertising. No one to greet you upon arrival. No complimentary water. Freezer was iced up. Dirty foyer stairs and carpet. Ancient lift. Television didn't work. Remote was missing. Sheets were unchanged with hair and dirt when we arrived. Floors were sticky. Bed... We (a German family with 3 kids) booked the Penthouse at the “Gracie Inn Hotel” for one week in September 2014. The location of the hotel is quite good, the website photos and video are really promising and the price seemed to be reasonable. What a disappointment! First of all and as agreed upon, the hotel debited my credit card... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
