Stayed here last week for 2 nights. The location on Upper East Side is awesome, safe, residential, quiet, lots of great restaurants and a block from walks along the East River. The rate is half the chain hotels in the area and now I know why. This could be a really charming place but the owner has really sunk to... More

We stayed for one night and it was not a nice experience. Room was not clean, nobody to help you and they did not refund the second night we did not stay as per their final invoice. I would not recommend any one to stay here. Tjaart

We stayed at the Gracie Inn Hotel last year and it was wonderful. Since then, they have changed management. Our room was never cleaned - there was soap from the previous people in the bathroom who stayed there. There was NO breakfast, there was NOBODY at the front desk to assist you. It was very dirty. I would not ever... More

I would never stay in the Gracie Inn Hotel again. My biggest complaint would be with the overall cleanliness of the facility. In particular, the stairwell looked like it had not been vacuumed for a month . I would suggest that the carpet on the stairs and outside the rooms be thououghly cleaned to remove the gross spots. The floor... More

This is the worst place we have ever been, the bed is uncomfortable, the TV isn't working, the website says free wifi but we have none, the room is filthy, there are no wash cloths in the room and the worst part is there is a bell that is outside to ring someone in and it has already rang several... I stayed here in 2004 and thought it was a great hotel. Very much like a left bank Parisian hotel with breakfast. I went back this weekend and it looked like no one maintained it since 2004. The air conditioner was connected with an extension cord that ran across the kitchen stove; the sheets were so old they had holes... More

We stayed overnight at The Gracie Inn as we needed to be in the area early the next day. Location is terrific. Room was older but that is ok as we have stayed in older establishments before. The biggest complaint is the lack of cleanliness in the rooms. Dust, rug not clean, refrigerator and microwave were dirty. Only a few... More

I've travelled all over the world and stayed at 3 Star hotels before but this was a first! The bathroom was dirty with hairs everywhere. The sheets were not clean either! The room we were given was appalling and we were told we were getting one thing and arrived to find completely something else. They show a picture of a... More

Hotel was very nice and clean! Staff was very nice and welcoming. We arrived after our checkin and we did not have any problem getting access to our room. Our room was homey if you are looking for all the bells and whistles then you should stay at the ritz not a inn. You will feel at home here and... More

I have stayed at least four times at The Gracie Inn. The location is set on a quiet, residential neighborhood a block away from the East River. There are two or three good restaurants and a full service cafeteria less than two short blocks away which I cater to. The rooms are all different. Sizes vary from ample one bedrooms... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
