We stayed at the Gracie the Friday after Thanksgiving,2013. Wow. Checked in after hours, so were just left a key. Got to the room and found...no heat, toilet dirty and a sign on it that it is out of order, only one towel, tub wouldn't drain and no TV service. Yikes! A call to management and they told us to "manage"... More

We've stayed at the Gracie Inn several times before and always had a good experience. The Waldorf it ain't, obviously. We checked in early afternoon and didn't notice the unsatisfactory condition of the room until we returned to the hotel about 8 p.m. after spending the day in the city. This time, the room we stayed in was dirty, with... More

I do not want to repeat all the negative comments found below. They are all true. Five days and no room service. Had to ask for towels etc. Bed slips from wall and have to block it in order to sit in bed. 37 degrees outside and no heat. I am in bed reading in a heavy fleece. I have... More

In spite of its superb location in the Upper East Side of NY, within walking distance to Central Park, the Metropolitan & the Lexington subway, you have to decide if the location and the relatively low tariff (for NY) is worth it. The public area of the hotel is really shabby, and although the rooms are clean, the overall impression... More

I booked Gracie Inn upon the recommendation of my good friend who used to live in the neighborhood and always had her family stay here when they visited. This was my first visit to NYC and the team at Gracie Inn put all my concerns/fears to rest. We received timely emails before our arrival instructing us about deposit and payment... More

I stayed here for two nights and it was the worst experience I have ever had in a hotel or guest house. The room was dingy and tired, we hardly slept because the bed squeaked loudly everytime we moved, we were given someone else's left over breakfast, the bathroom was dirty and when we politely told the manager about our... Guest was on a short 2 day trip from Europe to NYC. He pre-paid for the first night. Everything was fine UNTIL... his credit card declined for the second night. Then the complaints started rolling in. A male employee offered to inspect his room but he kept trying to lure a female employee into his room to lay on his... More

I've been to New York several times and stayed in different places, I obviously know it is not cheap to stay in Manhattan. This looked reasonable when i booked via Booking.com and the pictures made it look reasonable. I was not expecting anything amazing. I also was not expecting to end up with terrible back pain due to a trapped... More

A hidden gem, tucked away in upper east side. Old school feel, friendly staff, interesting and accommodating manger, walking distance to central park. Amazing value for a great location in the city. I would definitely stay there again!

Rooms very dirty. Same dirt when I checked in and when I checked out five days later. Manager nasty. Barely enough light to see myself certainly not enough to read a book. Should have slept in the park!
