the best thing about this hotel is definitely the location. A few blocks walk to all the main attractions. The stairwells were grubby but the rooms were reasonably clean. The complimentary continental breakfast was excellent but if you prefer something hot check out Captains Table next door. Very good value for money. I believe that the hotel is undergoing a total... We stayed here early January and would definitely recommend it. We booked then looked at the reviews.. I was worried by some of them but should not have worried at all. As long as you remember this is not the Ritz and it is also much better than other places we viewed. The room was a triple at the rear... More

This is a good hotel in great location just around the corner from the Empire State building and within walking distance of loads of attractions. The rooms are very clean and basic but really good sizes - my sons' twin was huge. Yes the bathrooms are functional if dated - ours looked ancient but once we got the hang of... More

I have stayed in new york a few times. This hotel really is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. I didn't mind it because we weren't in the room much but it was terrible. The bathroom door was so small and the tub was about 7 inches deep so it's basically a shower. The elevator took... More

Nice hotel, small room with no outside view (alley) but still at a good price compared to other hotels in the area. personnel were nice and the hotel is conveniently located. very small passageways on the floors but it is a very old hotel. I would return definively

This was our first visit to the city, the taxi took us straight to the hotel from JFK $60 in the rush hour. We were greeted by the friendly reception staff. The rooms are clean and tidy, the maids make a special effort every day, clean towels every day and I think our sheets were changed every 2 days. Our... More

Yes admittedly the hotel could do with refurbishment (which I believe is happening in the new year) , but the rooms are clean, it's in a great location and the staff are friendly and helpful Our room was small but had a fridge, coffee making facilities and toiletries. Hot water was plentiful and the housekeeping did an excellent job daily.... More

Good value, given the silly prices of other hotels in Manhattan. Ideal hotel for visiting the city if you intend to be out most of the time. A block away from The Empire State Building and 1 street away from a metro station, in a safe neighborhood, clean and comfortable rooms. Good service. Free in room wifi. Inclusive Buffet Breakfast... Located just opposite the Empire State this is a very pocket friendly hotel in NYC. Although the rooms are not very spacious but many tourist attractions can be easily accessisible. Subway station is also right across the street. The staff is also very nice

Small budget hotel in a good location , small rooms but clean , facilities are limited but adequate . Breakfast is continental style but for a good breakfast go next door. Staff helpful as one would expect

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
