Stayed at the New Yorker last night for just the one night as catching the train today at nearby Penn Station. Room was typically small for NY but clean. We were located on the 29th floor so street noise was pretty faint to hear. The room and corridors are in desperate need of a make-over as look tired and paint... More

We stayed at this hotel for a girls weekend shopping trip. This is one of the best locations I've ever stayed at in NYC. It's centrally located to shop 5th Ave and Soho. However from the moment we arrived the front desk staff(an older lady) belittled me and was very rude. When she was talking to me...a cowoker looked at... More

We have just returned from a 4 night stay here, second time for me staying here and I loved it just as much as the first time 5 years ago. Check in was very smooth, no queue straight up to the desk. We were on the 33rd floor overlooking the Hudson River, the room was a little on the small... More

Busy hotel located directly opposite Madison Square Gardens. Enormous foyer with art deco styling. Very busy, had to wait for ages to check out and to book events, and there was not that much seating for all of the people hanging around. Tick Tock diner on the ground floor is open all hours, which is handy for jetlag - it... More

I booked a room through Priceline and was worried that I wouldn't be able to get two beds to accommodate the three people in our room. A room with two beds is supposed to be extra, but upon arrival I met the wonderful Mohammed. Not only did Mohammed upgrade my room for no extra charge to two double beds, he... More

Room on 33rd floor overlooking the frozen Hudson River. I had read some negative reviews prior to visit and this hotel exceeded expectations. Room for 4 was nicely furnished, comfy beds and great heating system with self controls. Bathroom was small and a little shabby but this added to the feel of the art deco and did not cause any... The only positive things to say about this hotel are its location and its friendly staff. The room was disappointingly small, very little space for our bags, the bathroom was a joke, tired and in need of some upgrade...........very disappointing experience.

Been global traveling for 25 years and have stayed at a wide range from the best 5 star to quality value priced hotels but have yet to stay anywhere which equals the friendliness and professionalism of the New Yorker's staff. This was my second stay and on both visits the staff impressed me and my colleagues with their positive attitudes... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
