This was the first time to NYC, from 23rd June to 27th June 2015. The hotel is in a great location, close to Time square, Empire State Building, Macy's, 10 min walk to broadway, shopping, hop on hop off bus stop is at the end of the road. On 5th Avenue. We had a family room for four, two double beds,... More

I was there on 18th-23rd July. We had great pleasure there. The staff is very helpful and attentive. I got a room with the Empire State Building view and It was so pleasant. The amenities are good to my hair and skin. The location is perfect; near Fifth avenue, near Macy, near Timesq. You can climb to the subway without... More

The Gregory is a boutique hotel offering comfortable rooms, an excellent location, and fantastic service at a reasonable price. The service was what really distinguished The Gregory. After arriving from a long business trip (and dressed in non-business attire), I was immediately greeted by 3 people on staff and escorted to a seat to check-in. I was a little early,... More

This hotel is ideally suited for sight-seeing. It's on a side street and at one end of the street there is a subway station. The hotel staff are extremely helpful and can advise the best routes for wherever you're heading to. If you go parts the subway you can get to Macy's etc. The Empire State is pretty much round... Cute rooms with lots of natural light and a bathtub (not always available in New York). Couldn't get wifi to work, though. Great location just a stone's throw from Herald Square. Also liked that I didn't have to fish out a key just to prove I was staying there (many NY hotels have really mean doorkeepers who won't let you... More

Visited NYC for first time. Location of hotel is great. Very near to Macy's and Empire State Building. 10 minutes walk to Times Square. Rooms are lovely with clean sheets every day. Enjoyed breakfast. Plenty to get you started for busy days. Really missed having a kettle in the room. Would have loved a cuppa after busy days out. Suggest... More

Despite the many comments on the renovation construction underway, we found it a delightful place with very friendly and helpful staff. The room was clean and well furnished. The only downside is the AC unit, which was very noisy at night. They still use, if you can believe it, window units, and this was one noisy sucker.

I have pros and cons with this hotel. First the pros - very convenient to Penn Station. 4 of us easily walked here with our luggage (make sure you have luggage with wheels) - one block from Macy's, around the corner from Empire State Bldg. We walked to many of the popular places in Manhattan. Had 2 double beds, spacious... More

First time in New York as a family of 4 for 6 nights. Chose this hotel despite some concerns with reviews. Hotel lobby is being renovated but it made no difference to our stay. You can get to the lifts and go through Brendan's to get in and out during the day. Staff in hotel really nice, friendly and helpful.... More

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel 35 (soon to become The Gregory Hotel) and thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was large (for NYC) and the bed was huge and comfy. Great new, fluffy towels although a tiny bathroom. Hats off to the hotel staff, especially Matt and Brian. They went above and beyond to be helpful, even fixing... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
