We picked this hotel for the fantastic location that it is. We booked through booking.com and I had emailed ahead to ask if you could pay by a different method on arrival which we were told was ok, so they swiped a different card and that was that. Later to come home and annoying put a downer on our honeymoon... More

Spacious huge room for New York. I just wish the toilet was NOT located so close to the wall. Very clean. Love the king bed. Literally 1 block away from Empire State building. The Lobby renovation was still in progress when I was there. An easy walk from subway station.

We arrived at the hotel in the middle of the night and at first our driver couldn't find it as the sign outside says "Hotel". We got out and looked around noticing the hotel had pieces of paper in the window spelling Hotel 35. We stepped inside and realized the hotel lobby was being completely renovated. We had asked for... We spent two nights here June 6 & 7th. I knew there were some renovations going on so was prepared. Our room was newly done and very nice. Small and just what we needed. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I would reccomend it to anyone. The location and price were fine. Walking distance to eating and the Empire... More

Weve just spent five great days in New York and stayed here. I would have given five stars but the place is a building site. The finished rooms are lovely but ours had the building aircon unit outside the window which went on & off all night. Its the narrow stairs which are a bit of an issue at first... More

I can't really blame the hotel for this experience, it is really the fault of Virgin holidays who should not be sending people to a hotel undergoing renovation. Alas when we were here the hotel lobby and first two floors were being renovated. The newly done rooms were very nice, but the lobby and the first two floors were a... More

We stayed from 15 - 19 June and enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly, knowledgable and helpful. Construction work is taking place but measures have been put in place to keep any disruption for customers to a minimum. The rooms are clean and tidy and the wifi was strong in all areas of the hotel. Breakfast is next door... More

Arrived last Friday to the temporary reception desk. Was told the room would not be ready till 4 (supposed to be 3) but the manager seeing our tired expression found a room straight away on the 9th floor. There was only 1 lift during the working day but it didn't affect us too much as we went out and only... More

Bad customer service top to bottom.. The receptionist had an attitude problem and the rooms weren't ready even 15 minutes before check in. I doubt they would have been ready on time if we had stayed around based on her reaction. The lobby was sweltering due to unknown construction.. Why the AC had to be off the one time the... More

The Big Apple can be a little intimidating to a middle school field trip chaperone, what with 40 or so sets of hormones raging, minds and feet wandering and the various nefarious forces of the big city conspiring to fleece us. However, we found a safe haven on 35th Street in a hotel that was as unique as the city... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
