I have just returned from my 3rd stay at this hotel. It is situated in an ideal location in midtown near Macys and Empire state building. Metro is only a few short steps away. All the hotel staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Special praise and thanks go to Matt & Brian who... More

I am still staying at Hotel 35 and will be for a couple more days. The staff are pleasant and helpful and the location is great, but that is about the only thing going for it. The rooms are not a bad size, but the bathroom is so tiny it is borderline unusable. The toilet backed up on the first... More

We booked the hotel back in September when it was a Comfort Inn. We were made aware of the refurb work before we arrived, but to be honest this didn't cause us any problems. We were instantly made to feel welcome, the reception staff were friendly and always on hand to help when we needed any advice. The room was... More

This hotel is in a great location, 1/2 block from Macy's and just around the corner from the Empire State Building. The staff were courteous and the adjacent pub was awesome! The rooms are kind of small, but manageable, very clean, the only complaint would be the shower's water pressure, it was awful. I would definitely stay here again

Excellent location and good sized rooms. Staff are pleasant, friendly and helpful and working under very difficult conditions. The hotel is a building site with floors 7 to 12 being renovated - more like rebuilt - and this affects the entire building as every single nail, bag of cement, sheet of plaster board or bucket of rubble has to be... I stayed here for two nights with my wife and kids. From the get-go, Matt was there to help us with anything from luggage to directions to issues with our room. He made our stay a great one! We reserved a room on the Empire State Building side (rm 606), and we were disappointed with our view. If we looked... More

Dirty rooms, dark and uncared for. Breakfast was simply not worth bothering with. The front of house staff did their best but the manager was strangely absent whenever we asked for him! There are much better places nearby for the money.

Stayed for two nights in room 308 in March 2015. - Location is the best feature of this mid-town hotel. It's close to many of the major subway lines, restaurants (Koreatown!) and shops (Uniqlo, Macy's). - Room was a decent size and quiet - I got room 308 which was at the back of the hotel. The room had high... More

We were not expecting a 5 star hotel, having only paid 3 star prices. However other than location (excellent, Midtown only a block from the Empire State Building) and some front desk staff who did try their best despite having little to work with, Hotel 35 was a disappointment in every way. Even at this price point you should expect... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
