I booked on line and was motivated by its great location and price. I was pleased with my choice, it's an ideal base from which you can walk and experience Mid-Town. The hotel is located between Broadway and 5th Ave., 5 minutes walk from the Empire State Building, 5 minutes from Macy's, JCP and great shopping. It is about 10-12... More

Based on Tripadvisor reviews I read I had a sense of what to expect from Hotel 35. The Herald Square location was perfect for a two-night trip to NYC for a show and the Christmas decorations, and we got an-under-$200 price online. Besides the location, the pros were a fairly large room with a walk-in closet, new basic furnishings, good... More

Very nice, no frills, very clean rooms. The staff was accommodating and the location was excellent, really liked this place and will stay again. Check in and out was a breeze and the breakfast was adequate.

We stayed here for 4 nights and we couldn't fault this lovely small hotel. The location was perfect for us for what we wanted to see and most of the staff were very friendly. A special thanks to Michelle in reservations, What a lovely lady..it was a pleasure to meet you.. The breakfast was a great start to our busy... More

I will start with the pros. As other reviews have posted, this is in a great location of Herald Square. The doorman was extremely cordial and pleasant. Unfortunately, that was it. The rooms were a "decently" small size for NYC, which is quite understandable. However, the bathrooms looked like an old public school bathroom with tiny, draft window, poorly painted... More

On entry we were greeted by friendly staff and given 2 rooms on the twelfth floor, one with a view of the Empire State Building, an unexpected... More

You can't beat the location with Hotel 35, especially around the holidays. It's a few blocks away from Macy's (you have to stop by Wafels and Dinges just outside) and right across from the Empire State Building (ask for a rear room). It's also near Koreatown with tons of great restaurants; I was excited to find a Bonchon just around... More

having stayed in this hotel in 2001 and 2004 nothing has changed, we had a room with a window that over looked a wall so wasn't worth opening the curtains, room was dark and cramped opening the curtains made no difference, i know we can't all have a room over looking the road the bathroom window although closed was very... After reading Tripadvisor reviews on this hotel we decided to book and were not really disappointed. The best thing about the hotel is the location - a stones throw from Macys and the Empire State Building. Our t.v. did not work when we checked into our room but this was soon sorted out for us. All in all this is... More

Old hotel in great location. Thank god they leave the window a/c units plugged in because it was the only way to regulate the heat coming out of the old iron radiators. 2 elevators so hope for the lower floors and use the stairs. The free breakfast was ok. Hair and body products in the room were very nice. Room... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
