Hotel 35 was previously the Comfort Inn and the Gregorian. Looking at NY gossip it is to be renamed further upon completion of major renovation to become the Gregory hotel. This historic building was opened in January 1903 as the Hotel Gregorian, and has some terrific English Victorian features. 12 stories high with around 12 rooms on each floor, serviced... More

This hotel is superbly located, just a few yards from Fifth Avenue and the Empire State Building, and also from the Herald Square subway station and Macy's. Staff were very welcoming and provided us with excellent advice. An useful extra is the free buffet breakfast, cereals, toast, cakes, scrambled egg - just enough to get the day started. The hotel... We stayed here for a couple of nights while we saw the sights of New York city and it was a great hotel with comfortable beds, good wifi (always a must) and friendly service. We ate in the restaurant connected to the hotel on our first night as we had travelled for many hours, it was nice but expensive and... More

We were not under any illusions that this hotel was going to be 5* and amazing. As a couple wanting to see the sights of NYC we opted for cheap and cheerful. We just expected a clean hotel room with a bed to drop on to after hectic days in the city. When we arrived after 8 hours travelling we... More

This hotel is in a brilliant location in between 5th and 6th Avenue on 35th West so just a walk from Times Square and all the fun. Empire State Building round the corner. Macy's also round the corner. However, as with many hotels in New York you pay for location, not necessarily comfort. This hotel is currently undergoing major refurbishment... More

The boutique Hotel 35 is steps away from Herold Square and walking distance or a short cab ride from Times Square, Theatre District, Rockefeller Center, the Empire State Buildng, the Flatiron District and more. The hotel is being renovated, so it is a bargain. We were not disturbed at all. Our room, which had not been renovated, was a good... More

Although this was only a one-night stay, I came away with a few bits of information to share. First, the check-in and check-out was absolutely perfect. I booked through Expedia - no problems at all. The staff was helpful, professional and polite. My room on the 10th floor, while a bit small by some standards, was a great size for... More

My partner and I spent an extended Easter weekend in New York at Hotel 35. As a base we could not have asked for more... the location was fantastic for everything we wanted to do by foot. The staff could not have been more helpful and a special mention for Matt whose welcome was always tip top! The hotel itself... More

Before traveling we had an update to say that there was building work taking place, but the floor above and below were out of action to reduce the noise. Upon arrival the building work was obvious, but it was the middle of the day and they were making the best of it - the only impact was that the mains... More

We have just spent 4 nights here. It is ideally placed for Time Square and Empire State. The Hotel gives the impression of being somewhat faded and past its best, but it is being renovated.. The public rooms have some lovely original features, somewhat hidden by modern partition walls. The rooms are small by American standards, but were clean and... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
