There are no words to describe how well located this hotel is; it's simply the best area to be in NYC - not only neighbourhoodwise (Whitney Museum, Chelsea Market, Bleecker Street) but also transportwise (both underground [direct line to Central Park, the Cloisters] and bus). Equally pleasurable was the good taste of the house and the scale of it; it... More

I don't want to tell anyone about this place in case I can't get in next time I want to go.its brilliant. Just got back and had left new jewellery in the room. The lovely Violetta trawled the recycling and found it for me. The bar next door is ace and local restaurants are great. Perfect if you don't want... More

I wanted to spend one week "culture without frontiers" in New York and didn't want to stay in a big soulless hotel. I was glad I found Incentra. The location is perfect (bus to Lincoln Centre right at the doorstep), ACE subway only minutes away, Gansevoort and Chelsea Market round the corner....the team who run it are marvellous and nothing... I am slow in posting this! I stayed at the Incentra Village in July 2014 for four nights and thoroughly enjoyed my time in this lovely guesthouse. I stayed in the Gaylord room, which is nicely decorated, comfortable, quiet and quite spacious for New York. Wifi, a/c and everything else worked beautifully. The property is charming, old-fashioned and full of... More

As other reviews have said the Incentra is in a great area, with Coffee shops, Bars and Restaurants all within a 5 minutes walk. Also close to the subway and the meatpacking district. Having stayed in Mid town in the past we loved the quieter, friendly atmosphere of the West Village. We stayed in the Garden Room. My wife described... More

I stayed in the 'Washington' apartment at Incentra for a week and enjoyed myself thoroughly - the apartment was clean and tidy and warm, the staff friendly and helpful, and the location was perfect for easy access to the Village, the High Line, and the subway up- and down town. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

I am biased in favour of small hotels, but Incentra is a really special place to stay. The location is great: right on the limit of Chelsea, West Village and Meat Packing. Close to loads of nice restaurants and great night life. When you are in the rooms it feels like home, not like a Hotel. Next time I am... More

My husband and I just spent 3 nights at The Incentra Village and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Upon checking in we were informed that there were some issues with the water and that construction was going on. Vincent offered to find us alternative accommodation but as it was 8pm we decided to give it one night. The bed was cosy... More

After reading the positive reviews my boyfriend and I arrived in New York excited to see this accommodation and settle in. We were so disappointed to arrive to find the place a complete construction site - cables across hallways, power tools going, large piles of timber on the floor making it very difficult to squeeze through the narrow halls with... Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your impressions from your recent stay with us. . Incentra is a great B&B in the West Village, easy to find and well located near the subway (8th & 14), there's so much to see and do within walking distance and the room was great value. The room we had, Dakota, was on the top floor which does mean dragging your cases up 4 flights of stairs but worth... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
