We had a fantastic week staying at the Incentra village. Obviously, a new York trip is not about hanging out all day in a hotel, but the Incentra provided a quiet, calm oasis after a long day hiking around manhattan. The west village and meat packing areas are excellent if you’re looking for a more relaxed, local view of New... More

My room had everything I needed, even a kitchen, but it was so quiet & peaceful eventhough I could see 8th Avenue. The bed was high & comfortable, the room very clean, & the lovely bathroom stocked with soap, shampoo, conditioner, & loads of towels. What I appreciated most were the 2 human beings, Vincent & Violeta, who always welcomed... More

Really like this place. It feels like you are staying at someone you know in town. Very clean, typical New York townhouse, with a friendly staff. Great location as well. Excellent choice if you love to walk around and discover the "Sex and the City" type of NY.

Location, location, location!!!! I was looking for a really special accommodation and I got it!!!! What a delightful little Inn! I chose the Garden room because aside from having a lovely private garden it also has a FULL kitchen with a REAL gas range and oven. The min fridge could be larger but we made it work. The staff are... More

This place has character. The rooms have wood floors, a bit worn. The furnishings are unique to each room and have their own character as you can see from their website. Each time I have gone to Incentra Village, I feel like I am staying at the home of an older favoured but distance relative. It's warm and has charm... More

We found Incentra Village House while looking for something close to the High Line Park and chose the Bishop Suite for the extra space. We loved the history and ambience. It was a perfect location and the accommodations were wonderfully eclectic, clean, quiet and comfortable. It felt like our own little "pied a terre" in NYC. Vincent was friendly and... More

Look people, first the good news. Excellent location and a top-shelf staff. You're in the premier Manhattan neighborhood, regarding pedestrian scale and overall aesthetics - quite unique for the city, historically speaking, and there's no shortage of venues to enchant one's energy or interest. However, the Incentra itself has a built-in dichotomy; on the one hand it is an 1841... More

Dear David, Thank you for sharing your eloquent thoughts reflecting your impressions from your recent stay with us. We are glad that you liked our location but saddened to learn that you were not entirely happy in our newest room. Please note that we operate a modern guest house in a 1841 landmark building and some impediments are necessary in... More

Stayed in the Washington Room. Plenty of space, clean room and bathroom with plenty of hot water, FREE! WiFi with good speed, and a large fridge and freezer. This room is located at the front of the building, on the street, but it was exceptionally quiet. Only sirens and the loudest horns got through, but muted. The location is very... More

Perfect and everything I had hoped it would be! Location was ideal, room was quiet, clean and big. Staff was friendly and helpful. All conveniently located near Chelsea Market, and the West Village is so fun! Be sure to study your map; this is the only part of Manhattan where the streets and avenues get a little crossed up, lol!

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
