There aren't a lot of places where space is more expensive than Manhattan. This DoubleTree reflects that reality. The room that I had was very compact, and very efficient. Space was extremely well used and extremely well organized. My room had a great view of the Empire State building which was a delightful plus. This hotel is two blocks from... More

Great hotel. It's very new and clean. Difficult to find in NYC since most hotels are outdated. Service is great and they give you a welcoming cookie, the best! <3 Its the mark of the hotel. Its close to everything in Manhattan and still away of the buzz of times square. Perfect location. I paid 100 dollars a night in... More

Pro: clean, good staff (cookie and water bottle at the entrance) Cons: not comfortable bed (too squishy)(my back hurts a little bit), little space, slow deposit transaction refund. I waited one week and still didnt get the deposit money back.

We booked this hotel for a weekend family getaway. The room was small (though typical for New York) but clean, comfortable and quiet. Great location is close to the Fashion Institute, Chelsea, subway and more. Many food options nearby and lots of shopping within a few blocks. Easy walk to Madison Square Garden. VERY comfortable beds!

Nice hotel. Nothing super special but solid. It was quiet and I had a view of one World Trade from my window. The thermostat was a little problem.....I froze at night and it was set on 72 but the air ran all night. Be prepared to manage the elevator situation...only 2 and they are kinda slow. There was a very... More

Easy location in NYC, the hotel offers all required, quite and clean. There are many choices around but this hotel is a good option. Rooms are typical New York style but all are clean. Offers less noise and comfort.

.4 miles from Penn station, one street from the nearest metro station, great staff who was a great help in plotting out the places to go and in what order. Great experience! This is probably the only place I will stay at when I come to New York. Outstanding price, service, and location to everything.

if you like not getting the room you booked, waiting around for elevators for minutes on end because there isn't a service elevator and when the elevator does come there's a dirty bandaid on the floor for 8 hours, then this is the hotel for you.

Jenifer S, I am so sorry to hear about the confusion with your room type when you arrived, and the employee responsible has been made aware of the problem so that it does not happen again. We will certainly address the safe in the room that you were in, and thank you so much for bringing it to our attention.... More

The staff is wonderful. Natasha was at front desk most of the time I passed through and she was above gracious. Very helpful with a great attitude and smile. Love the flavored water in lobby especially after a hot day walking the city. The location is great for midtown west and fashion district/ chelsea. Cab rides in any direction are... More

I arrived late to find that not only was I upgraded for free, I got a room with a view of the Empire State Bldg! The room was very clean and small, yet perfect with a desk and modern bathroom. The location IMO is more midtown/closer to Macy's and Harold Square than Chelsea...when I think of Chelsea I think more... More

Staying in Chelsea

Neighborhood Profile
Chelsea
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighborhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighborhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighborhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.
