We knew what to expect from the pictures, what we didn't expect was the warmth and friendliness we got from Vasili. Every restaurant that was recommended in Harlem we loved, thoroughly enjoyed the Apollo theatre amateur night show, loved the house and the rooms and the beds, clean and comfortable cant fault a thing!!! I recommend this house to all.

I've just returned from NY staying at Mount Morris House for six glorious nights. Wish I had another six nights. I've been to this city many times and Mount Morris House is the best NY accommodation I've ever stayed in! It's a huge brown stone in Harlem that's just beautiful. Lovingly restored by the owners for 20 years - I... More

The most fantastic place to stay in New York, perfect and the hosts are perfect too. Felt very special and felt like the REAL New York, brown stone building great architecture and furnishings. Right on the doorstep of Harlem but a few minutes from the underground, taxis not too expensive well worth staying here rather than the city centre.

Fantastic place in an excellent location. I'd highly recommend this spacious, hospitable house to anyone staying in New York. Handy for metro, buses, restaurants etc. Vasili and Dimitri's hospitality is both warm and welcoming. We would return in a heartbeat.

Mount Morris Guest House is a beautifully furnished three storey historic house in Harlem. The rooms are well-appointed and charming with everything you could want. They are scrupulously clean. The comments in the guest book are full of praise for this establishment. Most of the guests seem to come from Australia. However, there are a few drawbacks which I wish... More

We thank you very much for all the positive comments and appreciate your taking the time to review our house. Thought we have no doubt that all observations in your review are well meant, I should, in the same spirit, point out some inaccuracies for the record: This house is the place we have lived for the past twenty years... We recently had a wonderful week at Mount Morris House. If you like older places with character and style then MMH is for you. It was a great oasis in the business of NYC but also very close to everything by subway. Harlem was also a great area to see up close. One warning - there are lots of stairs... More

Recently stayed at Mount Morris House for a week with 3 friends. The apartment provided the perfect accommodations for our trip at far less than comparable hotel lodging. Mount Morris is charming without being pretentious, and the photos do not do it justice. It was a wonderful addition to our trip to stay in an authentic brownstone in a real... More

Chose this place as an alternative to a downtown NEW York Hotel. The house is lovely, tastefully decorated, clean and in a great location for transport links to the city. The rooms are large and had a great shower. Harlem was an interesting area to stay and we enjoyed our visit

my husband and I recently stayed here for 8 nights and loved it. Vasili is a great host who is house proud and helpful. The house is beautifully decorated and we really liked the location as well. Obviously it's not in the heart of the action but we really liked that about Mount Morris House. Upper Manhattan / Harlem is... More

I stayed in St Morris House, with a friend, at the beginning of September 2014. The place was everything I expected to find and more. Beautifully restored Victorian townhouse furnished with period furniture. If you like ultra-modern and beige, the place is probably not for you, on the other hand you might be converted, it is that beautiful. The location... More
