We booked MMH based on Trip Advisor reviews regarding the property and the knowledge of the owners. When we arrived we were sad to find that Vasili and Dimitri were on holiday and Peter (Vasili's brother from Florida) was looking after the house. He met us earlier than the advertised check in time which was very nice of him but... More

It seems appropriate to record my sixth stay, even if it might seem unnecessary to write another review. I thought to add the following comments, because the house and the hosts are remarkable, always have been so, and the quality never, ever, falls. After long and exhausting flights, delays, heavy suitcase, it is so comforting and heartwarming to be greeted... More

Mount Morris House is an exceptional choice for New York. It is located in a lovely area of Harlem, and so close to many wonderful and exceptional restaurants and bars. There are three subway lines within four blocks, and at least a dozen bus lines close by. The metro north railroad is just a few blocks, and there are three... More

My family and I recently spent 18 nights in the Mocha Suite at Mount Morris House in East Harlem. It was fantastic in every way. The building is a beautifully renovated brownstone and the detail in our room was amazing. A truly beautiful spacious room, very comfortable beds, lovely bathroom and very very quiet. Always so cosy and warm. Plus... More

Mount Morris House exceeded our expetitions. It is a sympathetically renovated brown stone, which, upon entering, you feel that you have entered a peaceful sanctuary in the city that never sleeps. We were extremely surprised at the peace and quiet of Mount Morris area, and at night we could sleep even with the windows open. The house is not a... More

Mount Morris House is a lovely home in a great location which is only ten minutes from downtown by subway. The rooms and amenities are terrific, though there is no lift. That's only a minor inconvenience, more than made up for by the enjoyment of staying in this historic house. Although the house is called a B&B, breakfast is not... More

This is a perfect place for any traveller to stay in NY: genuine, historical and friendly atmosphere. We stayed for a week with our two teenagers in a suite. Beats any down-town hotel! Much more cosy and closer to the real city. Also: just a few minutes walk from Central Park...Thanks Vasili for great hospitality!

Wow what a special find this was for our most recent stay in New York. Mount Morris House and the genuine welcome extended to us by Vasili made our stay a wonderful experience. In my many trips to New York I have always stayed in traditional hotels and had always dreamt of staying in a brownstone.....and this brownstone was the... More

There is a reason why Mount Morris House is considered #4 here for B&Bs in New York. Dimitri did an amazing job in decorating the whole place. Our room was more than enough space with two people. We felt that we were living in a dream, especially since the price was so affordable. We were a little concerned with it... More

We knew what to expect from the pictures, what we didn't expect was the warmth and friendliness we got from Vasili. Every restaurant that was recommended in Harlem we loved, thoroughly enjoyed the Apollo theatre amateur night show, loved the house and the rooms and the beds, clean and comfortable cant fault a thing!!! I recommend this house to all.

As a hub of African American culture, Harlem has played a vital role in the history of New York City. Today, the neighborhood is as vibrant as ever as new businesses and developments go up next to local institutions. The heart of the neighborhood is bustling 125th Street, where street vendors and historic landmarks like the Apollo Theater mingle with big-name stores.
