Only problem is the room is too small and AC loud. But the location is also very good, close to the subway station, close to Highligh and Chelsea market. Beautiful communities and many good restaurant

We stayed at the Gem for 4 nights in late august. The hotel is in renovations so the lobby have minimum facilities. The staff at the desk is friendly and helpful even if english is not our primary language (as you can see...). Checking in and out was easy and fast. Being aware that the rooms in NY hotels are... An excellent boutique hotel, in the middle of everything you'll need in NYC. Space is at a premium in NYC hotels (think more European room size, not Dallas room size), but my room in this quiet, sleek hotel used its small footprint very well. (and let's be honest, if you're the type who travels for their hotel room luxuriousness, why... More

Our room was extremely little but well equiped. However, the smallness of the rooms is balanced by the large rooftop terrace. The neighborhood counts a lot of restaurants, bars and touristic attractions (High Line, Chelsea market, ...).

This is a small hotel with friendly staff. Parking garage is a block down from the hotel, very convenient. Room was small, as all rooms in NYC. We had a corner room with wonderful view of the Empire State Building. There is a roof top deck open to guests, you can BYOB. Tables, lights and soft music was playing, beautiful... More

Located in a beautiful neighborhood and is very quiet. The hotel itself is great although the rooms are a bit small. The hotel staff were good and efficient. Not trouble in getting the room ready. Good overall experience.

Room had water damage and mold. Staff did not seem to care about feedback. Have stayed here several times in the past and always had a great experience. I was surprised on condition of the room and even more surprised with lack of caring from staff when I notified them. Location is really good, close to subway.
