We stayed 3 nights at this hotel. It was okay. We just wanted a bed for the nights, you don't go to New York to sit in your hotel room. We had a doubleroom, it was very small, but it was all we needed for our stay. The only thing to pick on was the slow checkin, but the warm... More

I traveled here with my family of 7 people, which included a 2 year old toddler. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable. The suites were cleaned excellently and getting extras like towels and blankets came to the rooms in a timely manner. Check-in and check-out was stream less plus the amazing cookies were plentiful. The location was right next... More

I would like to take this opportunity to compliment the amazing staff they have working at this hotel. The front desk folks particulary the bell hop Stu were simply wonderful. Stu recommended a great Irish pub for us to grab a quick dinner and some drinks before the concert. The hotel was in walking distance from MSG but on a... More

This hotel stay was terrible. This hotel has 2 elevators and 25 floors. Imagine that one elevator is out of order and the only one left is used by the hotel's staff only. We were waiting at least 20 min for the elevator in the morning. Furthermore there was still trash of the previous hotel guests next to our bed...

Did not feel totally comfortable walking to the hotel at night. This is not in a bustling area of NYC. And it was very loud! The room was very small, typical of NYC - I know. But I have stayed in other hotels with bigger rooms. No microwave. However, the warm cookie when coming back to the hotel was appreciated!... More

We took our family -- 2 adults, 2 kids ages 11 and 7 -- to NYC this week and stayed at the DoubleTree on 36th street. Between work and personal travel I've probably stayed in at least 100+ hotels and I can unequivocally say that this hotel was the friendliest, even when compared to mid-luxury resort hotels. Every staff member... More

Booked this hotel WAY in advance for a conference at Javitz and it is walking distance to the conference, Penn station, Port Authority, shopping - pretty much anything. I was able to use the very cheap $14 NY Airporter shuttle (instead of a $60 cab) from LaGuardia and walk just a few blocks from Penn Station to the hotel. At... More

I stayed here for one night for business purposes and the staff at the desk was very friendly and helpful. The room was small, really just enough room for the bed, a closet and a desk. The bathroom was a decent size with a shower. The room was clean and it was quiet. I never had any issues with the... More

The room was great and clean. The bed was so comfortable. The staff was professional and helpful checking in and checking out. This is a great location, too - a short walk from Grand Central Station in NYC. I recommend this hotel wholeheartedly.

This hotel is in a convenient location in mid-town Manhattan (Hell's Kitchen area). The staff were courteous, helpful and professional at all times. The double room was small, and the carpet and furniture were a little worn, which is why I didn't rate it as excellent. The beds, however, were clean and very comfortable with extra pillows, and nice comforters.... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
