My boyfriend and I just stayed here last weekend and we loved it! I love the look of this hotel, so modern and chic. The staff was friendly and helpful and the location is perfect. We’ll definitely be going back.

Great staff, nice welcome drink on arrival (& a couple of other times during my stay!), very clean and comfortable, rooms a little small, but even on business I was only there to sleep. Nice restaurant on site. Overall a great hotel in that part of NYC. this was not my first visit here and won't be the last.

I stayed at the Cooper Square on a business trip & just had a great experience. From the elegantly spare rooms (which i thought were quite roomy for New York, unlike some other reviewers) with fabulous views of Manhattan to the free in-room safe to the spacious glassed-in shower to the beds that you just sink into -- I was... For the money you spend, you think 5-star boutique, but it's a bit short of their claim. It's definitely got that hip hotel feeling and it's in one of the best locations in NYC (close to nyu, union square, east village and soho). Unfortunately, the service is very hit or miss. I say this because you have a couple of... More

We were just there over the July4th weekend, and I must say it was worth all the anticipation and betting. The location - SIMPLY Fabulous. Super convenient to East Village, West Village, SOHO, LES and the Green Line 6 Astor Place to everywhere else. This is a superb hotel if you are interested in the downtown life, not too convenient... We stayed in room 3 on 15th for 5 nights, which overlooks the East Village and over towards Brooklyn. The room itself - not large, about 1 metre around the (large by UK standards) bed on all sides, but the view and sense of light and space more than makes up for that. The blackout curtains helped with the 5.20am... More

I had the opportunity to stay at this hotel 2 times for work. Since this is a new complex, it's clean. Rooms are small and the walls are super thin. Can here noises from the next door and hall way. Overall the beds are comfortable and the shower room is spacious. Typical modern hotel with great interior and small rooms.

This place is pretty amazing. But what a mixed bag! First, apparently it's so cool they feel no need to put an address or name on the outside of the building. The cabbie had no clue where it was, we had to hop out and ask a guy standing there--who turned out to be a doorman/bellman/greeter--if we were near the... More

After a long day of weather delays I finally got to the hotel at 1am and was looking forward to a steam which the site clears says the Cooper 4 has. In fact, a direct quote from the site, "Bathrooms are a mixture of steam shower and traditional tub & shower combo" when I got to my room there was... More

The rooms are small yes, but we're not talking shoebox size, so I was willing to overlook that. When in the room, all you will want to do is flop on the huge big marshamallow bed anyway! Trust me, the beds are excellent! The bathroom was a decent size and had a lovely 'rain' shower which also had a lot... More

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
