My husband and I stayed for a night at the Cooper Square Hotel for a mini-getaway from our apartment (we're New Yorkers). The location of the hotel is great and the view from our room was amazing -- a corner room looking north and west on one of the higher floors. While the rooms are small, they made the most... More

great common spaces and location. and the door guys are great. but the rest of the people working there need some serious customer service training. my room could not handle more than one person and could only be used for sleeping at best. i've stayed in many hotels in nyc but this one takes the cake in terms of inadequate... Based on TripAdvisors' recent reviews of the Cooper Square, we cancelled another hotel and booked it for a w/e shopping spree with our daughters. We know midtown and upper Manhattan much better, so really appreciated concierge picks for nearby eats and restaurants, off-beat shopping, and good walks around NoLita, Soho, etc over to the Highline and Chelsea Market. As one... More

Stayed 3 nights February of 2010. Very good experience. A little hard for the taxi driver to find. Once we got there everything fell into place. Relaxing from the moment of arrival with a glass of wine and friendly, hospitable staff. Room was small (typical for New York) but very nice. Bed was probably the most comfortable one we've ever... We did not actually stay at this hotel, but based on the sevice, I would not hesitate for our next overnight in New York City. We drove in on a rainy Sunday from our home in Pennsylvania, and found a parking space just outside of this hotel. We stopped inside to use the restroom and inquire if we were in... More

We stayed here for New Years 2010, and had a great time. The room on the 20th floor was wonderful with full views of uptown Manhattan. Many hotels have skyline views - but to view the city as you shower is not that common. The hotel has a good location near West and East Village, it's a cool structure mixing... More

I've had a streak of good hotel stays lately and my wonderful time at Cooper Square Hotel continues this. I thoroughly enjoyed staying at this hotel. It was modern, stylish, and comfortable. The location can't be beat - near many great restaurants, NYU, Washington Square Park, St. Mark's Place, and some of my favorite East Village bars. Staff was friendly,... More

My husband and I stayed for one evening only. We found a great rate ($180 plus taxes, etc.) and wanted to stay downtown. We prefer smaller hotels and have stayed at almost all of the Thompson Hotels given their size, locations, and rates. I have been tired of the extremely dark, ultrahip rooms with sliding glass panels that serve as... More

We stayed five nights at the Cooper Square and loved it. The location is incredible, the staff are wonderfully attentive and the room has the most incredible bed imaginable! We had a shower room which we discovered to our delight was also a steam room - bliss after a long day's sightseeing. Room service was excellent, food was great and... More
