We have visited the standard at The High Line many times for brunch and drinks but have been long time devotees of the The Bowery Hotel. This time we had an offer via Tablet and decided to change. We were upgraded to a deluxe corner king which might be one of the biggest NY hotel rooms I have ever had!... More

The Standard is hands down my fav place to stay in NYC. The service and vibe is amazing and it truly gives you that New York Vibe the minute you enter the doors. (I lived in NYC for over 5 years so I like to believe that I have a good sense of what a NYC vibe is lol) The... More

I arrived a little bit earlier then expected but they were more then willing to rush my room. Throughout my stay the staff was very polite and friendly. I can honestly say it was the first time I actually made friends with any staff where I stayed. I do want to point out a few staff members that I felt... More

I really enjoyed my time at The Standard East Village. The staff was awesome, in particular Paige and Max, two of the front of house employees took great care of me during my stay. They made sure that I did not want for anything and give some great advice on places to see in NYC. I would highly recommend this... More

The Standard is one of those places that compels me to write. The location in the Village is outstanding, the room was stunning (corner room with two sides all glass), but the real reason was the staff. My wife and I spent a good deal of our breakfast discussing how a hotel can hire the incredible individuals (specifically Jacob) who... More

My experience at The Standard East Village was fantastic. The staff was friendly and welcoming. It is evident that the hotel is a hub for creatives and a connoisseur of contemporary culture. Sitting at the cafe/bar is enjoyable and relaxing. The staff was fun and outgoing. Don't be afraid to make conversation. Heading back up to the room was a... More

a boutique feel with really helpful and sensible staff, nice little restaurant. It's hard to find a location in this neighborhood at a reasonable price. The room seems a little cold in vibe and personally I hate the lips pillows but its easy to avoid that. The bathroom brand new and very nice. Bed was comfy. I would definitely stay... More

I was recently on business in NYC. Most of the places I had to do business with were all below 25th St. I thought, what the heck, let's check out The Standard in the East Village and see how the other half live. I was not disappointed. The staff are very attentive. The rooms well appointed. Of course I was... More

After 10 plus visits to NYC over the past 12 months I have stayed at many amazing hotels. This one has something very different about it. It's the location! It's the closet I have found my self to living in NYC while still staying in a hotel. There is Heaps of restaurants barbers and even coin laundries But if your... More

I popped into the Standard with a friend for a drink since I was in the neighborhood. I wanted to check out the hotel even though I wasn't staying and the night manager Chris offered to show us around. He showed off the hotel and seemed to truly enjoy it. There is a gorgeous penthouse that can be used for... More

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
