Great hotel. The entrance and the lobby are in a renovated two story building, but hotel rooms are all in a newly built building in some ten stories. Everything was good except the size of the room and the price.

A great escape place. Make time for the patio and the fabulous pitchers of drinks and then retreat to your room and plug in your music. You do have to leave the lips in the room when you leave. Breakfast feels very European and the people watching is great. Finally make sure you go the right hotel, there are 2... More

I stayed here twice this spring while I was interviewing. The room was cute and larger than most NYC hotel rooms. The bed was comfy, but overall it was really loud on both stays. I got room service both times and it was absolutely delicious both times. My husband and I ate in the breakfast cafe downstairs and while it... More

This was hands down one of the best experiences my girlfriend and I have had when traveling (and we're both frequent travelers). Our red eye flight landed from LAX around 5am and we wanted nothing more than a room to sleep, though we weren't supposed to check in until later that afternoon. We went to the hotel anyway to see... Hi soccergrldfw, Thanks for letting us know about your experience here at The Standard, East Village. Red eye flights are tough to handle so I'm glad you were able to check in early and get some rest before the weekend. I'll be sure to pass along your praise to our team here (Chris in particular). Thank you again for the... More

I wrote a negative review of the Standard East Village early in 2014. The management emailed me shortly thereafter and offered their sincere apologies for what happened and said they would offer me a free night should I want to come back. I did return to take them up on the offer and the comped me a room for a... More

Hi Hanzlander66, First and foremost I'd like to thank you for giving us an opportunity to restore your faith in The Standard. As much as we'd like to think we are perfect, there are inevitably times when we fall short. It's not every day that we get a chance to turn things around so I couldn't be more pleased that... More

My family and I celebrated Christmas and New Years in The Standard East Village. The hotel is beautifully decorated with many cool details. Rooms are very nice and clean, and the hotel is located in a great spot with a quick walk to Soho. The food is very good both in Narcissa and the Cafè and a very nice place... More

Great hotel, like it even more than the original as it is less noisy and also more newly renovated. Getting access to the Crunch gym just opposite is a nice perk. Rooms tend to vary though. The new restaurant just next to the hotel is really good and the hotel can help with reservations.

Hi Axel B, Thank you for choosing us as your go to hotel when traveling for work! It’s great to see you were even able to fit in a workout at Crunch Fitness while you were here. Full access to a fitness facility is a wonderful amenity for our guests so I’m happy you utilized it. We appreciate your feedback... More

We had floor to ceiling windows in our corner room so we had great views of downtown and could see the Williamsburg Bridge lit up at night. It's definitely your small NYC style boutique hotel room but it was manageable for my Husband and I. The location is great and is a quick walk to SOHO, China Town, Union Square... More

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
