If like me you scour the reviews before your trip, you will be aware of things that others have found great and not so great about a particular hotel So..... PROS Location. Loved, loved, loved. Easy walking and transport access. Several subway lines and bus stop short stroll away. Views. Spectacular corner view on high level was a joy. I... More

#FAIL. This is a newly built hotel. It seems the construction is shotty. During my one night stay at the hotel, I was woken up in the middle of the night by a strange noise I couldn't identify. I couldn't figure it out, and tried falling back asleep. I was not successful as the noise wouldn't stop. It wasn't until... More

The hotel is currently under construction, though if you are here for just the night you would never know once you have spotted the entrance which I walked by a few times. What I found great was the room and the bed. Possibly the best bed in any hotel I have stay the night ... it was like it was... More

The Standard East Village was perfect for 12 nights of a recent visit to NYC. On the border of East Village and Greenwich Village, and so close to Washington Square Park, Soho, Nolita etc it was a fabulous location. We loved walking out each day and night into the local area, or jumping on the subway to head further afield.... More

I stayed here for the first time for two night and have to say the bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in. The room was compact and well equipped however the best part of the stay for me was the incredible view from the dining room on the 21st floor. Tube station is nearby and there... More

Those reviewers posting that the rooms were small are not living in the real world - this is Manhattan, for goodness' sake! We had a corner room with (almost) floor to ceiling windows looking out over the city. We kept the curtains open until we actually went to sleep just to drink in the views. The bed was amazingly comfortable... More

Stayed here for a week. Great location, close to SoHo. Very friendly staff. Room was comfortable and modern and the views were amazing. Looked forward to breakfast every morning in the penthouse. Cool pub The Smith nearby. Surrounding area more "spread out" compared to Times Square area, less tourist/people congestion. Lots of restaurant option. Can't wait to return.

Couldn't be better located for a holiday in NYC. In the East Village with a choice of fabulous restaurants, cafes, bars and boutiques within minutes from the hotel. The staff was helpful, specially in letting us check in early and giving us a free upgrade to a corner room With wrap around floor to ceiling windows facing Bowery. (No street... More

I stayed here for two nights a few weeks ago while in NYC for a conference. Although my room was very small, the bed itself was extremely comfortable (I prefer mattresses that are softer/plush, and the mattress here was perfect for me). Also, I couldn't hear any noise from the street (my room faced the back of the building and... More

We enjoyed our 2 nights here. On the plus side...the bed, breakfast ( top floor, with stunning views and fresh lovely food), views from the bathroom, and the friendly 2nd floor bar. The negatives....a pokey room with furniture that seemed ill suited to the awkward shape, a tiny bathroom space, and flakey wireless reception. Location suited us perfectly,as we love that... More
