we arrived late, and were greeted at the door by our bell hop, our check in took maybe, 2 minutes? (maybe less) the front desk staff were friendly and accommodating. when we got to our room, we were pleased to find that it looked exactly as it did on the internet, (sometimes you get a picture and find that what... Thank you for your kind review. When you arrive late, the last thing you want to do is be delayed at check in. We try our best to get you settled in your room as soon as possible. We look forward to having you stay again and wish you a Happy and Healthy Holiday season! Regards, DR More

Stayed here for the first with colleagues for a meeting at PwC a few blocks away -- the style is very modern. Everything is pretty much grays and black. The lobby was a bit odd -- didn't feel very "lobby-like" but the staff were very friendly and helpful when I checked in and out, which is always nice. On the... More

Thank you for your input. I think the best part about this forum is that the writers point out things that are important to them and that we can improve. As soon as I read this review I went into the elevator and did not have any problems reading the buttons. They are made of brass and this gets polished... More

We stayed at Morgans in November and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is well-located, welcoming and comfortable. We upgraded to a one-bedroom suite and really enjoyed the additional space. The rooms seem to have been modernised recently and the bed was exceptionally comfortable, although if we were being picky the bathroom was a little disappointing for a hotel of... More

Thank you so very much! You have made some very good points - we are in the process of creating a lovely new Lounge for our hotel but as far as 'buzz' is concerned, Morgans is unlike some of our sister properties. Morgans was always the quintissential boutique property. Our ethos is different; more low key and personalized. The design... More

We stayed at the Morgans for 5 days in November 2011. It is a gourgeous place to stay if you are a regular tourist, because this place is just a few minutes walking time to all major Midtown sights just as the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, the Theater District, 5 th Avenue Shopping, Grand Central Station et altera. We loved the... More

I've stayed at Morgans NYC on a couple of occasions, now - both times on business trips - and I am a fan for two main reasons: the amazing location and the excellent staff. The location is hard to beat: bang in the middle of Manhattan, a short walk from everywhere and surrounded by a variety of restaurants in every... More

I stayed here last week because it was convenient for a business event the next morning. The room was nice, but by God...can someone please get some lighting in that bathroom? Or at least the option of a dimmer switch? I felt like I was getting ready in a cave! Thankfully, I was heading to a place where there was... More

Thank you for your review. I am so sorry about the bathroom lighting. There are indeed dimmer switches in all of our bathrooms but they are rather small and you may not have noticed. We are planning to change to a larger dimmer. I agree - let there be light! Kind regards, DR More

The location of this place is great. The service is really outstanding. The restaurant is closed, but is open for a continental breakfast, a very special touch in NYC. The front desk staff couldn't have been more pleasant. The room was great. It was contemporary and comfortable.

Thank you for your kind review. Our restaurant is actually undergoing a renovation which is why it is closed. I cannot disclose much about it except that it will be FABULOUS!!! In the meantime, we continue to provide our American Continental Breakfast on a complimentary basis and Room Service in the evening. We look forward to seeing you again and... More

My wife and I were happy to find this small hotel near the Morgan Library. It was clean, full of its rather cold, black-and-white checkerboard design, and quite pricy for the size of the room. I realize that NYC is expensive, but $400 seems too much for one night in a queen-sized bed with almost no room to move around... More

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room very clean and comfortable - and as I was there with my 16 year old daugther on a girly trip, we found Morgans was one of the few hotels that seemed to offer a twin room at very little premium. We could see the Empire State from our window and were... More

It is wonderful that you were here with your teenage daughter! I am sure she enjoyed being in New York City. Yes, we are in the process of renovating our restaurant but this is New York, with 40,000 options. Our new venue however will be lovely. We do offer free WIFI in the Breakfast and Living Rooms and you can... More

This is a clean hotel that's trying too hard to be trendy. The rooms are nice and comfortable but the bathrooms are horrifically small with terrible fixtures. Worse part, the "free" continental breakfast doesn't open until 7am on weekdays and8am on weekends. Though it's nice, the times are not posted anywhere in addition to being so horribly late for a... Thank you for your review. I am glad that we at least provided you with a clean and comfortable environment! Believe me, we are not trying to be 'trendy'. We are what we are - a New York Boutique Hotel designed and updated by Andree Putman. I do not consider ourselves 'trendy'. We have been around too long for that!... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
