Do not expect much when booking here. Rooms are very pokey and only bunk beds. Not enough room to open your suitcase up on the floor. Shared bathroom and showers. Has an awesome gym downstairs though so spent more time in there than the room. Good if only wanting the room to sleep.

Arrived at 2am. The security demanded my passport to hold to the morning... I refused. It is on the passport application form itself to never hand it to anyone to keep. I found the guy absolutely rude. I even had a copy on me and he wouldn't accept it. It was clear I was not going to hand it over... More

The rooms were very tiny for the price. However everything was clean and the air conditioning worked very well. The shared bathroom however were very clean and had great facilities and good hot water showers. I didn’t have time to use the gyms, but from what I can see they were very good. The location was perfect, minutes away from... More

Myself and partner stayed here back in dec 2012 (a little late to review I know!) and for 8 nights stay at one of the most popular times of the year this was great value! The rooms are very small with paper thin walls and have enough room for only a bunk bed and a table with a (working)tv but... More

I was staying in NY for 2 weeks and as a broke student needed an affordable place to stay! YMCA was perfect... I read all of the reviews before coming and had very low expectations.. but it was actually a really enjoyable experience. I paid extra for a deluxe room which was located on the 4th floor with semi-private bathrooms.... More

I look at numerous travel sites and the place had the lowest price. It is centrally located and easy to get to all transportation. The rooms are tiny. The bathrooms and showers are down the hall and were clean during my stay. I did not appreciate having to share the elevators with the maids and janitors. They do not have... More

Rooms were small, private rooms were fitted with bunk beds, tv in room was very old and didn't even turn on.There were limited bathroom facilities for women on each floor (at least 60 rooms) with only 2 toilets and 3 showers with no privacy for getting dressed after showering. Fridge and air-con in room was great. Kitchen facilities were minimal.... More

They care about the people here who use the gym, not those who stay. Rooms are tiny. Hostel staff are rude... Except for security... They were the only ones who seemed to want Help us. Two showers on a floor for everyone to use. Ridiculous ... Rooms are cramped and smell. Good things... The gym. It's great. Location... Also great.... More

When we heard about coming here we was like 'great a hostel' but I loved ever minute I was there the guards was friendly they even had a laugh with us because we was only the big group there, the staff was great the only think I didn't like was the shared bathrooms. A tip for you the 10th floor... More

i have stayed two times in this hotel, with single bed. since the whole time i was having very busy meeting schedules around YMCA area, this hotel just great for jumping on the bed and not thinking other luxury things. but I think it’s also a good hotel for those who just wish recuperating energy and the rest of the... Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
