This YMCA has a perfect location, great staff, nice clean rooms and very affordable. I will deffinately stay here again in the future. The Vanderbuilt YMCA makes NY City affordable which is almost impossible.

I stayed at the YMCA Vanderbilt for three nights. It is one of the cheapest private-room lodgings in NYC that doesn't double up as a homeless shelter. The location is very good - convenient for all the major Manhattan museums, shops and restaurants, and there is also a subway station a few blocks away. There is some street noise, but... More

I stayed for two weeks which was the only way to afford New York for 14 days . I was a little worried but the room , albeit tiny , was clean, the bed was comfortable and the fridge and TV worked . It was hot because the Aircon was not working properly. However for the price paid, a decent... More

I stayed here for two nights while on a school trip to New York, and thank goodness it was only two nights. The outside of the hotel looked ok and based on the reception area and the look of the gym, I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it looked. However.. My roommate and I (both 16year old girls) got... More

Me and my girlfriend, both 21, stayed here during our 6 nights/5 days in NYC. The accommodation is a few blocks walk from Lexington Ave/53 Street on the subway from JFK airport where we took the AirTrain to Jamaica and got the E train to Manhattan from there, very simple! Check in is at 3 but they hold your bags... More

It's a good place to stay in Manhattan, if you're by yourself and a bit of out of cash. The room was small, but had a minibar. The bathroom is shared, but is clean. Apparently the girls shower has a password, but that i can't say for sure. Close to a subway station, to the UN, lote of pubs and... More

was here for three nights while on a trip to new york.. the rooms are pretty small with bunk beds and shared bathrooms; although they were maintained quite well...nice gym and has two pools (no time to try them though)..the best part is its location - right in the middle of manhattan and 10 minutes by walk from times square.... I stayed in the YMCA hostel for a weekend with a school trip. When we first arrived we thought it looked nice, it was the perfect location. But when we got upstairs to the rooms, they were very small, and not exaggerating when I say it was a cupboard! The floor was very dirty and disgusting, very unhygienic. There was... More
