Stayed for 6 nights in June/July. Had a comfy bunk bed with fridge and tv, clean shared bathrooms and showers. 10 minute/5 block walk from Times Square. A range of all ages stayed and got on, not noisy at all. Perfect if you're on a budget

Stayed here a couple of weeks ago whilst on a visit with my University. There was a group of about 30 students/staff, only three males of which I am one. We had all looked this place up and viewed the images of the rooms on their website, most of us agreed before hand that it looked good and like a... More

I came here on a school trip, we only got told we were staying in this hostel after we had all paid the non refundable money to go on this trip. We arrived and the staff were extremely rude as if it was an inconvenience to them for us to be here, we then had to wait half an hour... More

My friend and I were searching for budget accommodations that was close to everything. We wanted more money for activities! We decided to stay at the YMCA and we are glad we did. Our room had two bunkbeds and was small but adequate for a short trip. Bathrooms and showers were down the hall which is typical of hostels. If... More

Took over 20 minutes to check in with the single front receptionist - traveler in front of me represented a large group that apparently had their rooming arrangements messed up; facilities appear old; only one deteriorating bathroom on my floor; other travelers appeared somewhat unkempt; tiny rooms.

I stayed for 5 days while in New York for a work conference and was looking for accommodation on a budget. I had a single deluxe room on the fifth floor, deluxe means that it's a semi-private bathroom (so a bathroom that you can lock and shower alone). Luckily, the bathroom was just down the hall from me so it... More

I stayed here for one night only. Actually, I was only there for about 6 hours. I arrived late and had to leave 6 am for a meeting. It turned out it was a bit of a problem for them because if you arrive late, it is the security guards that check you in. If you have to leave early,... More

I'm no stranger to basic accommodation having stayed in many hostels in Europe, Asia and America. This one is by far the worst I have ever had the misfortune of staying in. Its one positive is its location - walking distance to Times Square, Central Park, 5th Avenue, Grand Central etc. But when you're in Manhattan there isn't really anywhere... More

Rooms are small. Be aware group of teenages can be very noisy and run riot at night. Ask for a room away from any groups. I had 3 sleepless nights if this happens to you speak to reception they said i could have been given another room.

Bathrooms not very clean and showers often clogged with hair balls - yuk. If you are unlucky enough for the key not to work after 11pm then you are locked into the room until the office opens the next morning - no bathroom access. Good location but noisy rooms. We stayed with a school group and all rooms reported pipe... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
