My friend and I booked this hotel through Thomas Cook. We wanted a twin room with a kitchen and the Beekman Tower provided just that. However, I should mention that although we "requested" a twin room, it was just that - a request and it wasn't until my friend phoned the hotel direct as soon as we'd made the reservation... more

We've stayed at the Beekman many times over the years and have always overlooked its air of shabbiness because we liked the size of the rooms and the genteel feel of the hotel; it's always reminded us of a big but unfancy New York apartment. But our three-night stay in room 11D has persuaded us to give up on the... more

This hotel cost $300 per night and I would have expected more for that price. I can see that it has a certain Art Deco charm but my room looked as though it hadn't been decorated since the early part of the 20th century. Dark and dingy room, old and shabby furniture, sticky carpets, cracked tiles, cobwebs. On the plus... more

I stayed at the Beekman Tower between 19 and 26 Sept. 09 and had the most horrible hotel experience ever. In my first room on the 4th floor, rats ate up my gift chocolates. Mice could not have caused such havoc. In the second room on the 8th floor, the bath tub drained so poorly that I took my showers... more

This hotel is situated on the intersection of 51 St. and 1st Av. in Midtown Manhattan. Although this is not quite in the centre of Manhattan it is placed relatively close to some of the main attractions New York has to offer including; the UN headquarters, grand central station, empire state building and 5th Av. These attractions are around a... more

I have stayed at the Beekman approx. 10 times during the last 5 years. All the previous (9) stays were in their main building and were okay --- clean, quiet, nice rooms for the money charged. However, for this last visit of 3 nights in August I reserved a room using Travelocity's website. The price was a lot cheaper than... more

This was our second year to visit New York and also our second time to stay at the Beekman Tower. The location is great. Just down the street from the UN and only a short distance from the Theater District. The transit authority has a bus stop just across the street from the front door. The staff was wonderful. Rooms... more

The hotel offers huge suites, nice staff and fairly clean rooms. The hotel is somewhat old and the good things come at a price. more

We stayed in a on one bedroom queen standard suite. Our room was on the 22nd floor and had a great view. The room was clean and spacious. It had a fully equipped kitchen, living area with table and pull-out sofa, and nice master bedroom/comfortable bed. The bathroom had beautiful marble tile. This was a good location, clean , and... more

The proximity of the Beekman Tower Hotel to Grand Central, combined with a decent deal through a travel website, led us here for 2 nights in Sept 2008. The neighborhood is nice enough and removed from the hustle and bustle just a few subway stops away. The hotel itself seems that it was once a place of grandeur but has... more
