Stayed at the hotel over the last weekend in February. Got one regular room and one suite, the prices were incredible through Quikbook ($150 for a king bed suite with a pull out double couch and $120 for a queen bed regular room). I don't remember ever paying that little for rooms in NY and remember getting really awful rooms... More

Stayed there with a TV crew. Perfect location to be in the neighbourhoods and out of the hustle bustle of Mid Town. Rooms are delicious and wonderful toiletries. Food is very expensive though.

stayed here twice in january. once had a very small room on 12th floor, then a nicer room on 16th. Both rooms were the queen/king sized superior rooms. I assumed the smaller room on the 12th was just a design quirk, but I am sure there other rooms of that size. Also, I had some small issues with a draft... More

Meant to stay at Smyth but not completed so got offered a room at the Smyth rate (quikbooks). This hotel in good location, with 2nd Ave subway, and wholefoods around corner. The weather was bad (snow and rain) and as the interior is dark made it look a bit dreary. The lights drove me a bit nuts - having to... More

Staying in Lower East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Lower East Side
Straddling the bridge between New York’s thriving immigrant past and its modern transformation into a beacon of global art and culture, the Lower East Side is one of the most dynamic neighborhoods in the city. The blocks of tenements that represented the promise and blight of the Lower East Side immigrant experience now command top dollar for new residents. Right next to old-world delis, 24-hour bodegas, and the garment shops of Orchard Street, you’ll find hip clubs, fashionable bistros, and luxury hotels beckoning at all hours of the evening. If you love nightlife and live music, it’s hard to beat the scene here.
