I had a tremendous time at my recent stay at The Thompson LES. My room was stellar-equipped with phenomenal views of the Empire State Building, HUGE bathtub and custom shower. Brushing my teeth while watching the morning news on my personal bathroom television was neat. The front fest staff could not have been more helpful and courteous. Robert at the... More

My mother and I were coming to visit NYC for the first time. The staff was very well prepared to assist us in all of our needs. We were able to visit lots of NYC because Robert was so helpful in ensuring we had reservations for dinner. We loved the cleanliness and the atmosphere. We loved the pool and the... More

This hotel is an NYC oasis! It is modern and trendy, but not off-puttingly so, and made for a very comfortable stay. I wish I had been there during the a summer season so I could have taken advantage of the pool. The room was spacious (especially for NYC), the bathroom was kinda fun, and the functional balcony was a... More

This place is very modern but in a nice, comfortable way. My room was well decorated and functional I loved the hardwood floors - much nicer than the usual carpet dirt traps. The room was an okay size for a NYC room, good for a few nights, but might get a little small if you are staying for a week.... More

My GF lives in NYC and I am bicoastal LA/NYC. I decided to try and plan a special evening to celebrate our anniversary and having stayed at the Thompson LES (before it was purchased by a new management company Joie Vivre I believe) seemed be a great option. I made the reservation way in advance and was clear that we... More

No two-bed rooms were available, so we took a King Suite. The couch opened out to a comfortable queen-sized bed, separated from the king bed by a bead curtain. It was an ideal arrangement. It should be noted that a phone call to the hotel resulted in a better price than what we found on any internet site. The hotel... More

Quick and easy check in on a Monday afternoon. I got room 713 which is a king room with a seating area. The room is sleek and clean, with dark wood floors and an L shape couch in the seating area. The room is separated by a interesting heavy metal bead curtain. There are floor to ceiling windows with good... More

Was in NYC on business and booked this last minute through the Hotel Tonight app on the iPhone. One of the coolest rooms I ever stayed in and at nearly half off the listed rate thanks to Hotel Tonight. Highly recommend the... More

Staying in Lower East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Lower East Side
Straddling the bridge between New York’s thriving immigrant past and its modern transformation into a beacon of global art and culture, the Lower East Side is one of the most dynamic neighborhoods in the city. The blocks of tenements that represented the promise and blight of the Lower East Side immigrant experience now command top dollar for new residents. Right next to old-world delis, 24-hour bodegas, and the garment shops of Orchard Street, you’ll find hip clubs, fashionable bistros, and luxury hotels beckoning at all hours of the evening. If you love nightlife and live music, it’s hard to beat the scene here.
