I thought W New York was a great hotel - I booked on Expedia so got a great rate, but it was much better value than other hotels I have stayed in in NYC for the same price. The room was clean and very well equipped, with CD player, DVD player, internet access, well stocked mini bar plus a fantastic... More

My wife and I spent a weekend (three nights) in the W New York this past President's Day Weekend. Ok, here's the skinny on this hotel. Don't be scared off by the other reviews. We are avid travellers (read our other reviews) and we enjoyed this property. This is a great hotel in an amazing location. We have stayed at... More

just returned from NY was alittle dubious about staying at the 'W' after reading many unflattering reviews but we found our stay there exceptional front desk staff concierge housekeeping porters and security all deserve a big thankyou for making us most welcome. Ok rooms were a little small but for goodness sakes it is a boutique hotel and in NEW... More

This hotel was apparently opened a few years ago and one can see that the so called "design" ages very fast - the shelf life of much of the contemporary design is quite limited. The hotel has a great location close to central station and virtually behind the Waldorf Astoria. Lobby, reception, restaurants and bars are trendy and very busy... More

I stayed at the W New York for one night last August. Having waited in line at immigration at JFK for two hours, I was ready to collapse into bed upon arrival at the hotel. On arriving at the hotel, I was practically thrown out of the cab by the waiting hordes outside. I looked in vain for someone to... More

After reading some of the reviews I was a little nervous about what we had booked!! We stayed at the W hotel for 2 nights. We arrived at the hotel around 3pm and at check we were told our room was not ready but as they knew we had been on a long journey from London they did what they... More

Don't stay here if emergency safety is important to you! While I was there I jogged down the internal emergency stairs to go to the gym, from the16th floor room to the 4th floor. I was amazed to see EVERY emergency stairwell crammed with in-room dining trolleys, housekeeping trolleys and even a cot bed! All were there blocking up what... More

I had stayed at the W Union Sq and was surprised by the negative reviews on this site about the W New York. The hotel is much bigger and is always busy. We were upgraded to a suite which was nice on arrival and the service was always cordial and efficient. Check in and out was a breeze. Ate out... More

The hotel is very chic and trendy. It caters to the younger late 20s -40 something professional crowd. The location is great- we easily walked or took the subway everywhere. ( we don't care for the cab rides- too scary) We were there to celebrate my birthday and valentines day. The bar downstair is very comfortable with large couches and... More

I stayed here for one night, 2/9/07, and was very pleasantly surprised. I arrived at 6:30 on a Friday night and the place was buzzing. That may turn a lot of people off, but on a Friday night during Fashion Week, I'd be disappointed if it wasn't. The staff at check-in could not have been more pleasant. I am a... More
