Have stayed at the W a couple of times and have always enjoyed our stay. Staff has always been helpful and courteous. The room are very nice, well appointed and by New York standards comfortably sized. Would highly recommend staying there. Great location.

A huge disappointment. Upon check-in, it's obvious the hotel is nothing but smoke and mirrors--it's glitzy, glamerous, fashionable but that's where the compliments end. And, I was actually stupid enough to fall for the phone message that said if my stay wasn't what I was expecting, to call the manager at ext 66. "The manager is not available, but will... More

We were fortunate enough to stay in this amazing hotel for the weekend. Everything was perfect! The staff is accommodating, and everyone greets you with a warming smile. There are complimentary drinks and snacks in the lobby and a gorgeous lounge area. The view can be average or great depending on which side of the building your room is on.... More

The W New York has no understanding of hospitality. Never have I felt so mistreated and stressed by a hotel. I was there recently on a business trip with my company. We had 7 rooms for 5 nights (spending over $12,000). The employees were rude and uncaring. The housekeepers woke our entire team up around 7:30AM every morning with their... More

I have stayed at many hotels and rate the W New York as a well positioned and comfortable one. I had a suite and although the room is large for New York the decor was a bit bland. Other than that it is well positioned and a short walk to most places. The lobby area is a great place to... More

I travel to New York at least once a month for business and pleasure. I have a lot of friends in the city, I attend charity events, and I go for work on occasion. Most of the time I stay at the W or Westin in Times Square. Due to the proximity of a dinner I had to attend with... More

The hotel is well located and clean but the rooms have a lot of problems. 1) Bathroom door is too heavy to close 2) Poor lighting over the vanity 3) If you want a coffee pot you have to request one 4) No exhaust fan in the bathroom 5) The elevators stink with incense sticks 6) No thermostat in the... After reading a bunch of the reviews on here, I was really worried that this place would be a disappointment but we had a fantastic stay. The lobby was modern and slick. We stayed on the 7th floor, and though we had an interior room with very little to look at with the exception of the occasional visiting pigeon, it... More

My wife used her Marriott points to stay at this place for a wedding. 1st problem - "non-smoking" room stank of cigarette smoke as did the hall. 2nd - I felt like I was in that movie "Coming to America" as I opened the blinds to look at of the window of the 12'x12' room and it was facing a... My husband and I have stayed at many hotels in NYC, but usually at the SoHo Grand. This was our first time at the W Hotel (on Lex). I've stayed at W hotels before, but this one stood out. The service was excellent starting with the valet to the front desk. The hotel was cool, safe, and clean. The concierge... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
