The W New York is the flagship W hotel. The rooms were small, but decorated very nicely and more importantly.....were clean. The hotel is right across from the Waldorf Astoria and the Intercontinental Barclay. It's within walking distance of grand central station and times square, but a cab/train ride away from the nightlife in the meatpacking district. The view was... More

Lovely hotel. Modern hip comfy lobby. Nice bar. Great professional staff. Loved the bottled water when we checked in. Free wifi in the lobby. Our first room was on the small side, but well appointed and comfortable except for a strange smell. (maybe a pet accident?) Anyhow, went to reception to address the smell. Received a sincere apology and a... More

Staying in NY for business can be quite hectic, and most of the hotels, especially those in times square, can be noisy and crouded. Walking into the W on Lexington is refreshing and morever, the hotel employees are kind and friendly. I have stayed here several times and Gloria Morales, who works at the front desk has always gone out... More

I stayed for one night, midweek. When I arrived the lobby/bar/restaurant had a DJ with some loud tunes pumping, a good atmosphere for a hotel. I immediately asked for a room high up as I needed some rest, so they put me on the 18th floor with some views, no complaints. I think rooms on lower floors would be noisy... More

We got a great deal online--otherwise we might not have stayed here. The hotel was lovely, modern and spare. The room was small by US standards, but new, fresh, with great amenities. We'd stay again in a nanosecond if we got a deal on the price.

From the moment you are greeted at the door to the front desk staf, then as you are taking to your room by (Teddy) and while you are staying Jessie will make sure that your room is clean from top to bottom. Tim Mcdonald is the person to thank for your rooms. As you can see this hotel is very much... More

This is a standard W, but I was really surprised at how wonderful it was for families with young kids. The rooms are tiny (typical NYC), but the staff worked hard to make sure we had a room with a bathtub, clean and nice crib, and other standard fixtures for infants. While we saw many other young kids and babies... More

We stayed at The W in order to attend my Dad's funeral in NYC. So - the occasion was not a happy one, but the staff at the W - especially Cindy Cabrera was simply the best. From welcoming us, providing an upgraded room, and Cindy's attentiveness to my 6 year old son (little gift bags), our stay was a... More

If yiou need help with a reservation, a room, etc even on short notice, Liz really comes through for the frequent traveler. I've been dealing with her for years and she is an all-star...it's worth staying at the W Hotel for her service and that of the other excellent front desk staff...

The tag line "Whatever, Whenever" is one that the staff lives . . . from the front desk to the operators. However, one staff person in particular stands out - PATRICK HINDS. Patrick was absolutely PHENOMENAL. My husband and I have visited many Starwood Properties across the country and I can tell you that this young man is an asset... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
