My friend and I stayed at the W primarily because of the location. They have essentially taken a very old hotel with SMALL rooms, painted it and furnitioned it with modern furniture. The heater is old and on the side of the room. The bathroom is very small and old. Pros: Great Location nice lounge at the lobby the bar... more

The infrastructure is a little past its sell-by-date at best. This could be rescued by great service, but sadly it isn't. Two minor faults in the room -- a non-functioning light and a closet door which wouldn't stay closed -- became jaw-clenching frustrations when they weren't fixed even on the third time of asking. The third time, by the way,... more

I stayed here for one night and will never stay here again. In fact, I will never stay at any W Hotel again because of this experience. I know it is New York so I expected to pay a lot for a nice room, but the room wasn't even close to being nice. The room was very worn...it felt dirty... more

We stayed in the W hotel on Lexington Ave last weekend. All of us were really happy with the hotel and would definitely stay again! The 'spectacular' rooms were small with abnormally loud AC however the location was excellent and there was a good atmosphere in the modern bar and lobby which was great as this is where we met... more

My family and I have just returned from a 4 night stay at the W hotel on Lelxington Avenue. We had a fantastic time - a very unusual and interesting hotel - a change from the stereotypical city hotel. The staff were all helpful - from the concierge and front desk staff to the porters and room cleaning staff. The... more

I arrived late on a Thursday night having booked a queen smoking room (disgusting i know), when i arrived i was told the hotel was full and the only room available was a double (ie a single beds) non-smoking room, yes i was offered a downgrade, so much for being a 'starwood preferred guest'. The room was tiny and had... more

If you had asked me the first night I was here, I would have given this hotel 5 stars. It's beautiful, upbeat, great decor, and the staff is SO friendly. But - after staying here a while there a few things that really started driving me crazy. - The size of our room is small. Which was fine at first... more

This hotel is in a great location. This hotel has a wonderful staff! But there are other choices that have all of that, and better design at a similar price point. My friend and I called it gloom by room. We moved to the newly remodeled rooms after the cave like older one on the third floor made us want... more

I stayed here one night coming back from a long trip overseas. I arrived at 6am from an 11 hour flight and the hotel said they didn't have any rooms ready. The front desk attendant was cool and told me she would call me when my room was ready. In the meantime, I went upstairs to the Bliss Spa to... more

Stayed at the W on business because it was convenient to our morning meeting. Great location. Terrible hotel. The room was worn, noisy, and appeared to have been decorated by a color blind 10 year old. I do not find anything edgy or trendy in broken lampshades, dirty floors, or noisy rooms. The heating did not appear to be adjustable.... more
