i have stayed at the W now on a number sperate occassions. each time there has been an issue with the service and attitude of the staff. Firstly they forgot to pick me up from the airport and also could find my booking; second time the room was so small it was impractical and lastly when my wife arrived earlier... More

So many people have told me I really must stay at the W if I get chance, I got chance, now may be I had unconsciously high expectations but this place was grey and uninspiring in so many ways. The bedroom was minute, smaller than any other NY hotel I have stayed in and it was painted in 5 shades... More

Location is one of the highlights of this hotel it's perfect, down the road from grand central station, close to subway and easily accessible and only a few minutes walk to 5th ave, Madison, Times Square and rockafella. The lobby area was hip, chic and cool, great bar called whiskey blue which is nice for a pre night out cocktail.... More

The sleeping rooms are surprisingly small. It's reasonably clean and I appreciate that above all else. However the room is just odd. The door to the closet is a very, very small frosted glass shower door. The TV is on a pole because there really isn't enough room to add furniture to hold the television. The bathroom is also tiny.... More

The W, Lexington is nice, clean and well located. However... We booked through BA (flights and hotel) and why not. Before we arrived we tried to upgrade the room, W Hotel couldn't do it as its a third party booking - fair enough. On arrival the 'third party' booking issue became more apparent. Wifi is $15 per day (because we... More

The W New York was the first W ever and it is still an excellent hotel. We enjoyed a fantastic suite that was nicely appointed and quite large on a corner. The hotel is old construction so we could not hear a peep in the hallway, which can be a problem at newer hotels no matter the status of the... More

We stayed in the W on Lexington during the week of Thanks Giving. As such it was incredibly festive and lots to do around Manhattan. One of the most useful services of this hotel was the concierge; as newbies to the city, they were incredibly helpful in telling us how to get to places we wanted to go, how to... More

I was in a "Wonderful" room -- 200 square feet, and it felt it. Still, the room is well designed and the size didn't bother me. Everything was in working order. Full size ironing board, rather than the dorm room ironing board you get at some NYC hotels. I did not have any noise issues during my stay, either from... More

Stayed here for business for two nights this week. Hotel is definitely starting to look a bit shabby and dated. Needs a facelift. Rooms very small and dark - typical for a W hotel but just seemed dreary rather than hip. Very noisy - walls so thin I woke up at 2:30 in the morning because of my next door... More

The W to me is a brand that is cutting edge and cool. The cool factor here is the reception you get checking in. I get that people in NYC aren't super friendly, but it would be nice to feel a little more warmth when you walk in from the cold. The decor looked like it was trying a little... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
