Very elegant interior. Peaceful setting close to Central Park in a primarily residential area of the UES. The Hotel has a very old school feel--without feeling dated or pretentious. I stayed here for a weekend, and will definitely be coming back.

Don't get me wrong, this hotel is very nice. However, it's expensive for what it is and the service is...superficial... The rooms are lovely - the bathroom is particularly nice. The quality of the toiletries/toilet paper (!) is poor. Bed and bedding is very nice. We ordered room service on one night and it was prompt and delicious. We could've... More

I am a bit surprised to read this review, as I was under the impression that the response you received from us a few days prior was both acknowledged and appreciated. I do apologize that you did not receive further feedback as promptly as you expected, which in turn impelled you to write this heated review. It was our hope... More

First I will say that my review is not related to a stay at the hotel. I live in the neighborhood and stopped in for a drink with some friends during the big "blizzard" the other night. The bartender was not at all friendly and promptly informed us that the bar was closing early due to the storm. Though the... More

Dear Patron, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience in The Mark Bar during last Monday’s “blizzard”. We are dismayed that you did not receive prompt and attentive service during your visit to the Mark Bar, and this is inexcusable. I’m sure that you noticed that by 10 pm Manhattan was a ghost town, with hardly any... More

This was our first visit to the MARK since its renovation, and we were delighted! The distinctively inviting lobby and unequaled service remain. The infrastructure and rooms have been substantially rebuilt with a marked increase in comfort, amenities, and quiet. The Mark has a great location - an easy walk to Central Park and the Metropolitan Museum of Art and... More

It is always a pleasure to read feedback from a guest that has stayed with us prior to the hotel’s redesign. I am delighted that on your first visit back you were met with the same impeccable service, and that you found a significant increase in the comfort and well-appointed design of our accommodations. I completely agree that although the... More

I loved this wonderful hotel! The rooms are beautiful, the food we ordered up was absolutely sublime and the cherry on the top was the most fantastic strong shower I have ever had anywhere ! Morning runs were great as Central Park was a few steps away. Nothing is too much trouble . A Nespresso machine complete with a stash... More

All I can say is "wow". Wow to the food! Wow to the service! (Our server shake was the best ever) Wow to the ambiance. wow to the prices! (But worth it). We walked away at $160 per person. Be carful about what they do with the tip suggestion check box for credit card users. As has been previously mentioned... More

This past break my family and I stayed at the mark hotel. Prior to our stay we were throughly impressed by the concierge. They helped to plan things to do, restaurant reservations, and took great care of us once we got there. The restaurant is fabulous, and the rooms are very clean and well furnished. I will book here again... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
