Upon arrival, you are definitely going to feel VIP. Staff is very kind and helpful. Beautiful decor. We stayed on 5th floor facing Madison Avenue. Beautiful rooms, however, the windows lack any noise blockage. We heard EVERYTHING from the 5th floor. Other than that ONE negative, Central Park half a block away, great shopping near by, overall, great location. Definitely... More

As a surprise 40th birthday for my wife, we flew First to JFK and had an outstanding week in Manhattan, underpinned by the extraordinary service, quality and comfort of The Mark. The hotel is superbly positioned and is an oasis from the challenges and delights of NYC.

Without a doubt, if you want to nudge with the rich & famous, just come here, especially during big events like the Met Gala and Fashion Week. But what I like about this place is that the atmosphere actually matches it's clientele - luxurious. It's surprisingly a hard thing to find in NYC of all places.

From the moment you step out of the cab the staff of The Mark make you feel like a VIP. No detail was forgotten. The suite we reserved was huge and we were welcomed with a lovely note, champagne and chocolate covered strawberries! The bed was extremely comfortable and the bath, spacious luxury! Exquisite flowers were not only in the... More

I've stayed here many times, since 2011. Definitely recommend it. Price is quite high, but if you want an elegant, intimate, real NYC experience, this is the place to stay. I love it's location and service. Fantastic boutique hotel on the upper east!

Once again, The Mark Hotel hits the mark of excellence! Could not find any faults at any point during this stay, and all our previous stays. The staff are all very professional and provide the best possible experience. The rooms are spacious and very well maintained. Fantastic beds, amazing showers, very clean. We have just completed a 5 night stay at The Mark and can not speak highly enough of it. The rooms were very comfortable and the staff were 1st rate. There is a good bar downstairs for a drink or two after a long days touring the sites of the city. The position on 77th street was perfect for us... More

Thank you for mentioning The Mark as the perfect place to stay in NYC. We place a great deal of attention on our level of service and I am delighted to hear such positive feedback on this. Gem of a boutique hotel upper east side near Central Park. Sleek modern decor. Neat as a pin. Attentive service at every turn. Comp car svc within 20 block limit. Bathroom is palacial with towel warmer and in mirror TV. Electric shades for blackout sleeping. Bedroom space is tight but not unexpected for NYC. Courtyard side was so quiet. Wi-fi... More

Location is perfect if you are looking for Upper East Side elegance, great shopping and proximity to the park. The rooms are high standard as is the service. It's a shame that the rates fluctuate so much and that they do not offer any loyalty points despite being part of the iprefer group. Room service and on site restaurant is... More

My husband and I stayed 3 nights in January 2015. The staff is superb. The doorman left an impression with me - always genuine and offering directions. Seamless check-in. The rooms are varied. We stayed in a suite with a bedroom, small sitting area and small galley kitchen. I loved the storage space in the room, allowed us to clear... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
