It's so nice to stay in a hotel and feel immediately like you are at home. I just stayed at The Mark on the Upper East Side (great location on 77th between 5th and Madison). It was my first visit, and what I loved most about it was that it had great style and attention to detail. It's not often... More

Excellent location, terrific staff, extremely comfortable bed, luxurious tub, incredible shower, spacious room, unusual and interesting mini-bar selections. Over-priced restaurant and bar, but that's what you can expect on the Upper East Side. I'll definitely stay here again...

The reviews are true. The hotel staff could not have been nicer. Everything from making the reservation, to having an early check-in, to having a crib in the room on arrival was flawless. The upgraded room was much appreciated. The room was well appointed and spacious for New York. The location was perfect for access to the museums, park, and... More

I stayed at The Mark for five nights last week. The hotel is beautifully appointed, the rooms comfortable, the bathroom stunning and the staff pleasant and helpful. Although the location was further uptown than I have always stayed, taxis were quite easy to hail and the walks to surrounding landmarks and shopping enjoyable. The only disappointing experience was on Saturday evening when I... More

I cannot give this hotel five stars due to the small size of the room. The bathroom was very large; however, the actual room was much too small for a five star hotel room. There was also a hair in the tub. Other than those two flaws, the hotel staff and the other aspects of the accomodations were fine. The... More

Probably the best hotel in nyc. Great service and lovely place. Top bar too with excellent cocktails if that's what you fancy Located upper east side which is ideal and near park. Superbly attentive staff and well presented rooms make it such a great place.

The Mark Hotel, on the Upper East Side of NYC, is our family's "home away from home!" While traveling with two young children is not easy, the Mark makes it a very pleasant and memorable experience for all. My husband and I began staying at the Mark initially for our business travel, and enjoyed the hotel for its sophisticated decor... More

I personally did not like the interior and found it a bit .. Confused. Which isn't a huge part of a hotel experience (albeit still a part) but it was the service which is ridiculous. We waited more than an hour just for our luggages to be brought up to our room. Our rooms btw were also nothing special and... More

It is unfortunate to learn that you did not have a seamless experience while staying with us, and I apologize for the delay in your luggage being delivered to your room. It is rare that we hear anything but positive comments regarding our hotel’s interior design elements, but I do understand that the avant-garde style of our lobby is not... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
