I payed in advance good money for a very tiny room which I could barely have space for packing and unpacking. The high price just does not justify. Friendly staff and good location though. Right in front of the subway. ---------------------

Thank you for your review of our property. I am thankful that all seemed to go well. It sounds like you may have stayed in our Standard Single room with one twin bed, which I totally agree is a small room which runs about $30 to $50 below the other rooms for this reason. We are very careful to display... More

Stayed for 7 nights. Arrived early and the room was available, which is always a bonus. Second floor room was great as we never had to use the elevator. The hotel and room were remarkably clean. Housekeeping did a great job as there was always replacements of coffee, soap, etc. Room was typical size for a NY hotel. Microwave and... More

Budget hotel - not cheap but what is in New York? Reasonable location near subway station. Room was very small but worst aspect was the window fitted aircon unit - the weather was hot and the room even hotter but trying to sleep with the aircon unit working was nearly impossible - sounded like a 747! Ideal room in winter... More

Thank you for your review and I completely understand your views. We have brand new AC's in each room and they are quiet function ac's however, as the size of the room is one of our smaller types, regardless of how quiet the settings are, a window ac will be a bit louder. We are doing everything in our power... More

The Hotel Newton. Upper west side between 94 and 95. Subway right there. Great neighborhood. Easy walk to Central Park. Small rooms but nice, clean. Great staff. So accommodating. :). We have stayed twice now! Near Columbia on red line #1. Best value in New York City!

CONS: The elevator moves slowly and sometimes you're waiting awhile for it (there are stairs but if you're on the 7th floor like I was, I tended to only use them going down), the room was one of the smallest I've slept in and had a smell of some sort of baby-powder-like cleaning product; mind you I only noticed the... The Hotel Newton is a great budget hotel that I have come across in Manhattan. The staff was very courteous and efficient. When we arrived, our reservation was pulled up instantly for us and we were greeted by name. The room was clean and comfortable. The location is amazing with some of the best dining in New York right outside... More

My daughter and I stayed for 8 nights and couldn't be happier. Friendly staff, perfect location and super comfy beds. While the room was compact it was more than adequate for the time you there. The bathroom was extremely clean despite a small leak. The air conditioning was noisy thou the weather was hot and there was no view, these... More

Overall, I enjoyed our 5-day stay at the hotel. We stayed in a queen room with a private bathroom. The rooms are a bit small, but we didn't mind that. Their rooms have a microwave and refrigerator, which we needed. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless. The only issues with cleanliness for us was dust and mold.... More

Never saw my room in any gallery photos when booking a standard double rm. So when walked into room was very disappointed in size.It felt very claustrophobic and we are here for 7 days. Not a view in sight just a closet to sit in.

Thank you for your review. In our gallery under each room type, there is an actual picture of each room. These are not show rooms, but the actual room showing the size. Our rooms with one bed(Superior) are pretty much cut to shape along the lines of NY hotels but our Deluxe brand with two beds are far larger than... More

Our room was spotless, as was the shared bath. Our room (dbl bed) looked almost exactly like the one in the official photos. Our room was pretty inexpensive when compared with others nearby. Hotel Newton is literally 5 doors south of the 96th Street station on the 1-2-3 line. Their sidewalk canopy is easily visible from the station exit. Central... More
