As another reviewer has already mentioned here, this place is not for everyone. But if you appreciate art, the bohemian lifestyle, a laid-back attitude and are flexible, this hotel is most perfect! It has a fascinating history (read about it), a very friendly and helpful staff, and is most welcoming and comfortable. Where else can you stay with two cats... More

This place is fast becoming my home away from home in New York. This stay was at the beginning of December for my first solo trip to NYC. I arrived at around 7am after a overnight bus trip to the city. I was beyond exhausted and the front desk guy saw it on my face the second I made it... More

Stayed here in July 2013 and we loved it (had to put 2014 as it was only option). It's def not for everyone, it's very colourful - in every sense of the word. The history of the building is def worth reading up on and adds to the experience. Not the most luxurious of places by a long shot, no... More

I love staying here not only for the location but also the great people who work there. The place has history and is fun to stay in. Is it luxurious? No. Is it in a great location and fun? Absolutely. The hotel even has a fun little library of books. I stayed on the top floor and it was really... More

This is an unusual hotel but that's really it's charm. Convenient location downtown, quirky and intriguing and memorable. If you want a unique experience and appreciate art, this is the place for you. It's full of character, affordable, clean and safe. The staff is great. It reminds me of Europe in a way. It is not fancy but definitely has... More

My favorite Hotel in NYC. Nice Location - Fancy Rooms - Not to far to walk to Subway for Europeans. Place not very quiet, but who seriously like to sleep in a City - NEVER sleeps ? Hopefully the Prices are still affordable while my next visit in Big Apple.

I had a wonderful stay at this fun and spunky hotel. The staff was very helpful and friendly and the room was clean. I felt safe in the neighbor as there was no sketchy activity going on (that I could see) in close proximity to the hotel. I enjoy art, so the beautiful paintings on the walls appealed to my... More

Loved that this place is so unique! From the moment you walk up the staircase you instantly notice the creativity and character of this place - clean, comfortable rooms and great value for the handiness of the location - would highly recommend!

This hotel has some positives and negatives. Positives: amazing location in the heart of NYC- good bars, close to subway and attractions. It is also quite original in its design with lots of different graffiti art on walls. There are two cats wandering round too Negatives: after a flight from Manchester and having booked and paid for two single rooms... More
