4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

We stay often near Soho New York City as our daughter attended NYU. On this trip, we were surprised at the big, clean room close to Little Italy, Chinatown and Soho. The bed and pillows are lumpy and the fitness room is three machines but the staff is responsive and helpful. Breakfast is adequate and the location is terrific.

Stayed for a week. Our first room was in front of the elevator, vending machine and ice machine - We did not hear the elevator - but all the people passing talking early and late. But that was not the worst noise - the vending and ice machine had the sound of a truck standing in the hall. Keeping the... More

I did not have any problems with noise and we stayed for over a week. We were on the 9th floor, on the Grand St. side (which seems to be less noisy according to past reviews) so maybe we lucked out. However, we were very pleased with the location since we went all around manhattan and brooklyn. The staff was... More

Good hotel, in the middle of Chinatown. If you cannot stand a lot of noise, do not book. Rooms are ok, doubles were kind of small but fair. Big comfortable bed, ok amentities, nice bathroom. Needs a mini bar. Hotel offers breakfast, which is very rare for New York. Breakfast is ok, but all cutlery and glasses are plastic -... More

We appreciate you staying with us during your NYC stay. We appreciate your feedback so we can improve. NYC can be noisy as are most big cities. The nice thing about our neighborhood is that even though it is very busy area during the day, it is quiet at night (especially compared to Midtown). There is some traffic noise at... More

DO NOT STAY HERE. This was by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had in 15 years of business ravel. The air conditioning went out in my room in the middle of a sweltering night. First, the night desk employee suggested that I didn't know how to turn it on. Then after a protracted effort to get a... More

My sincere apologies that you had such an uncomfortable stay at our hotel and that the staff did not immediately resolve the issue. I will certainly follow up with my staff on how we can improve our service and resolution skills. In the future, I would hope that you would reach out to a manager, if the desk staff does... More

The entire layout fit best our concept of how a hotel should look, its layout, facilities quality, staff presence and service. Hands down, the designer of this business model and facilities design should be emulated worldwide as to quality and value. We have never had a better hotel experience.

Initially we had booked another hotel where we have stayed before but changed to Best Western Bowery Hanbee as they are offering breakfast – a change we did not regret The hotel is situated on the border to Chinatown/Little Italy but as all shops and restaurants in the direct neighbourhood are Chinese I would say Chinatown. A five-minute-walk from the... More

Hotel and rooms kept very clean; shower excellent; staff friendly and helpful; very close to MTA; nestled between Chinatown and Little Italy, great location for food; breakfast area too small and area not for the genteel; great access on and off the island.

This was our first trip staying in a hotel in Manhattan. We wanted something within walking distance of NYU, that would not break the bank. This hotel worked out great for us. It is located in the Little Italy/Chinatown area, and we were in fact comfortable walking up to NYU. There is also a subway stop just around the corner,... More

This Best Western is tucked in a block of Chinatown near Little Italy, this was a great value and didn't disappoint in comfort/convenience. I'll definitely look to stay there again for business/pleasure that takes me south of midtown

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
Bursting with an amazing array of sights, sounds, and smells on every block, a visit to Chinatown feels like entering a different world. It’s a colorful spectacle that gets even more crowded on weekends, when families stream in to enjoy huge dim sum feasts and to stock up at the markets on Mott Street. To take a break from the buzz, grab something sweet from one of the many bakeries in the area and head to Columbus Park, where many Chinatown residents exercise, play games, and chat the day away.
