This is perfect for the person that desires a clean, less expensive alternative to a hotel room in New York. The host, Michael, is very knowledgeable and helpful, the rooms are well kept and having access to a kitchen is helpful, too. Never saw other guests despite the fact that all rooms were rented, felt like we were his house... More

4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2014

I had a 4nights/5 full days stay in late July. I had selected it based on Tripadvisor recommendations, location (zip code plus uptown), price(under $100/night for a single room) and proximity to a subway station and to shops for necessities. I was not disappointed on either count. The extras were the self-serve breakfast, the casual, but friendly and helpful atmosphere... More

Couple in our 30's, no kids , visited New York for the 1st time, June 21-24 2013 (suggested by trip advisor) We drove down from Montreal Canada. NY was really hot that weekend! But we we're real cool cats at Michael NY !!! You get your own keys to the 4 room house (blockhouses) shared with friendly travelers. A step... More

Subway station, supermarket, laundry and drugstore right around the corner. Very quiet place. Half an hour from most touristic points by subway (24/7). Did not need taxi even after midnight. You can get there from JFK easily by subway. Owner very helpful and friendly. Simple place but very clean and quite, with everything you need. Other guest often very friendly.... More

For my winter trip to NYC, I booked 5 nights at this place although it is a little far from the city (located in Harlem. It is pretty valued for money (you pay through the nose for accommodations which are not hostels in NYC, even in the dead of winter, since it is a year-long tourist spot..) Location: The inn... This is a very nice guest house in Harlem that is extremely convenient to the subway on a quiet little street without any traffic. The houses are hidden away from the rest of the main roads and it felt safe and was a great place to stay overnight. It's not in the heart of the city, so it is calmer... More

I was due stay for a few days in October, but somehow a double booking occured. I didn't get the impression that such things happened often, but was impressed with how the situation was resolved. I had arrived late, so the owner put me up in his own apartment for the night at no charge. The next day, he booked... More

I found the B+B easy to find from the local subway station, it is only 1 minute walk as per Michael's instructions. It's a 20mins subway ride from midtown. I was made to feel at home straight away by Michael and the other guests, beats staying at a faceless 4-star hotel in NYC! The local area has plenty of cafes... More
