Took my wife here as a 40th birthday treat (along with my two teenage children) and what a treat it was. Not cheap but worth every penny. Situated in Tribecca away from the hustle and bustle but close to downtown (on foot) and with easy underground access to midtown and uptown Very friendly and helpful staff, lovely rooms, great showers... My son chose this hotel to celebrate his engagement with the extended family. We reserved four rooms, so we saw a good sampling of the rooms. This is a relatively new hotel that we watched being built when my daughter lived just across from the hotel on N. Moore street. That is why I expected the hotel be "new" and... More

Not modern at all, it's what I would class as traditional New York which is exactly what we were after. Staff were polite, room was lovely and quiet. A few reviewers think this hotel needs TLC and updating, but I actually think that would ruin the ambiance. If you're looking for super modern then don't stay here. If you're looking... More

I've always wanted to check this place out because of its reputation, and the hotel itself does not disappoint. Gorgeous interiors - the rooms and halls feel like a chic Swiss chalet and the lobby and reception rooms and Asian spas are lovely. Decent sized rooms but no bathrooms. Hip crowd. But some of the front fest people have way... More

We stayed at the Greenwich Hotel last weekend, flying in from Los Angeles on a red-eye flight. We were concerned that we wouldn't be able to check in until 3 p.m., which is their normal policy. However, upon arrival at 7:30 a.m., much to our relief and appreciation, we were accommodated. Staff gave us a quick tour of the room... More

This may be the best hotel ever. The service is understated but outrageously good - friendly, attentive but not over the top chummy as you often find in the US. Perfect. The atmosphere is casual and very discrete. Great little bar and eating area for guests only. Rooms are really comfortable and well equipped with a tub that fills is... More

As an NYC resident for more than a dozen years who only recently moved away, it was with great anticipation that I booked a weekend stay at the Greenwich Hotel for me and my husband near Christmastime. I'm pleased to say that the Greenwich didn't disappoint. The room was spacious and stylishly designed. Despite being located in the heart of... More

My first night in Plaza Athenee was really good. My second in The Lowell even better. Now I spend the third night in The Greenwhich (I love to change) am I am totally disappointed. Have a look at the photos. It's ridicolous. Especially the bath room. I think the last time I had a curtain in front of the shower... More

We stayed here 3 nights on our honeymoon in late 2013 and I've only just become a TripAdvisor reviewer so thought I'd cover it off. I loved the thought of this hotel. It's so very NY and quite reflective of my personal style. The Greenwich lived up to expectations but made us feel somewhat uncomfortable. It didn't feel natural for... More

Staying in TriBeCa

Neighborhood Profile
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighborhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighborhood home.
