The hotel was great, beds were clean, beds were very comfy. We did not want to leave! Staff was very friendly and knew the area. We had never been to Carlsbad so we had lots of questions. Pool was great, the kids did not want to get out of it everytime we went to swim. The room smelled nice, no... More

After leaving this hotel out in the middle of nowhere, I've got a permanent momento to remember my rather uncomfortable stay at this best western. I still have a huge gash on my foot that hasn't properly healed 2 weeks after my 1 night stay at this hotel on our way to see the caverns. There was a huge jagged... More

stayed for 1 night July 12,2012. Room was a nice size and wife liked large bathroom with double sink. Hotel had an outdoor pool area. Did not get a chance to use as we were traveling to the Caverns. Too bad as it was a hot day. This BW has its own restaurant on site so able to get dinner... More

My son and I were lucky to find a last minute reservation in Carlsbad for a visit to the National Park. But, then again after staying here I don't fill so lucky. All hotels in the immediate 50 mile radius are booked in advance by men working in the oil fields so do your research and book in advance for... More

This is rated #5 for Carlsbad? Wow! After staying at the Holiday Inn Express then moving to this hotel....what a let down. The hotel is old and the room smelled musty. We had only warm water for a shower. We were booked for 2 nights, but stayed only 1 and left town early. I would not stay there again.

I am sorry your stay was not more enjoyable. All of our boilers which provide hot water are less than four years old. All of them have back up units which kick in when a boiler goes down. We very rarely do not have hot water. The motel has all new bedding and case goods which were purchased from Best... More

Stayed late June. Checked the room and couldn't believe how smokey it was. Went to the front desk and neither front desk person seemed shocked or concerned. Got another room which was't smokey. The new room's AC was filthy and room wasn't much better. Too tired to move on -our own fault. I was sick for ten days after the... More

We stopped here on our way to the caverns. It was pleasant although their were some issues with the pillow cases not being on the bed which they corrected immediately. Breakfast was included and good and the waitresses were nice. It will probably be nicer after the dining room remodel. We enjoyed the pool, even at the end of march... More

Stayed here one night. Large parking area. Good laundry room. Decent pool area. Room was standard for a Best Western. Basic and clean. Check in was quick and easy. 4 of us in the room (2 beds) and we were very comfortable. Bathroom was clean. Air conditioning worked well. Ate at the hotel restaurant. Old restaurant was being updated so... More

Firstly let me say the room here was very good and when visited the place was being remodelled. The drink arranged for our arrival had run out before we got there (judging by service in the restaurant area and kitchen I can guess where it had gone). When we went through to the restaurant we were asked by a drunk... More
