After reading all of the TA reviews on Highland Lake Inn, my wife and I booked a two-day stay for early January. We stayed in the Primrose "honeymoon" Suite, even though we have been married for 28 years. It was fun trying to act like newlyweds with the fireplace and huge bathtub. There are actually two bathtubs in the Primrose.... More

My wife and I stayed 2 nights. The property has several different types of accommodations. We stayed in the Woodward House. Our room was very large and comfortable, more like a suite, with a gas fireplace (which we used a lot since it was cold out) and a large whirlpool tub. There was a wet bar and a very nice... More

My daughter and her fiancee selected Highland Lake Inn for their wedding ceremony, and what an excellent choice they made! The Inn's event planner was extremely capable, knowledgable, flexible, and a joy to work with. The Inn provided us a perfect location for our extended family (coming from all over the country) to gather for a few days, and offered... More

We stumbled across Highland Lake this week after a long day of driving, only to find a hidden gem. I hesitated to write a review because it's quite a neat secret. The buildings are spread out on a beautiful sprawling property which leads down to a lake. Lots of trees & gardens yet wide open areas for play, gliders for... More

If you bikers are looking for a destination which offers most everything you need and more, this place is it, particularly if you're trailering your bike to ride off on day trips. The inn is only a couple of miles from I-26, providing easy access from both the north and the south. There's no steep hills to negotiate, as is... More

Pluses - grounds which are lovely. Minus - Lodge is dank and musty and rooms are worn. some may say charming but tatty and worn rugs and not very comfortable bed. Clanky fan. Bathroom shower wall stained. Careworn place. Closet space is almost non existent I would not stay here again More

We are sorry to hear that your lodging accommodations did not match your expectations. While we are constantly upgrading mattresses and other amenities, maintenance issues such as a noisy fan’s are not acceptable. We sincerely apologize for this. Beyond that, we feel it is important to note that the Historic Highland Lake Lodge (in which you were booked) is a... More

This is our favorite place to stay in the Flat Rock/Hendersonville area. A wonderful buffet breakfast is included in the room rate. We stayed in two adjoining cabin rooms with our children. We had a fireplace in our room and a porch with swings. We have stayed in the lodge before, but prefer the cabins because you can park right... More

We have been staying in the Woodward House at the Highland Lake Inn for many years. The grounds are expansive and offer a restaurant, pool, lake, vegetable garden, friendly goats and lots of areas for strolling. The Woodward House has a wonderful back porch with rocking chairs that are perfect for afternoon reading, taking in the mountain air or sitting... More

Highland Lake Inn is located in beautiful Flat Rock, NC. The Inn tries to bring this small town to the big city, but fails.....considering the big city prices it charges. Amenities do not include robes, for example. The breakfast buffet was included, however, the breakfast was mediocre, at best. The coffee and jam were excellent. And why not offer coffee... More

I am terribly sorry that your stay with us was not the experience that you had hoped for. We strive to make our guests feel wonderful from the time they arrive until the time they depart. Although we do not offer robes in every room they are offered in our premium rooms as an amenity along with whilpool tubs, and... More
