We stayed at the Highland Lake Inn for one night at the end of June. We arrived very late in the evening just before Reception closed and left mid morning the following day, so our stay was very short, which was a shame as the setting looked very nice and I would have liked to have spent some time in... more

Way to expensive for a noisy little cabin, had to fix the toilet, they put a hold on my debitcard that won't come off. They had a security issue and the police harrassed our teenagers, not enough chairs at the ice cold pool. Breakfast buffet was out of fruit, kept having to ask for coffee to be refilled, awlful service... more

At Highland Lake Inn, we take our guests needs seriously. Our goal is to make every stay delightful. While it is standard practice in the hospitality industry to authorize a credit card upon arrival, we did waive our policy in this instance to accommodate the needs of this guest. We were made aware of the toilet issue and it was...

We recently completed our 4th trip to HL Inn - it was another great experience. We have gone there for romantic weekends and prefer the Woodward House rooms with a fireplace for that type getaway. The Woodward House has a lovely kitchen for guests use - just be sure to clean up after yourself! For family trips we prefer the... more

We live 30 minutes away. We have stayed at Highland Lake on several occasions for a night or a weekend just because it is so lovely to be there. Season's Restaurant is our favorite place to eat out. They use produce from their extensive gardens for their dishes. Their young chef is amazing--there is always something different, and special to... more

I stayed here with my mom on sister for one night to look at homes in the area. I have a cabin in the mountains nearby, but had never visited this part of western NC and am so glad I have now. The resort reminded me of the movie Dirty Dancing when families used to "summer" in the mountains. There... more

The Biltmore and the Grove Park Inn have nothing on this place. These icons of the area are both very over-rated and over priced in all departments. I had just lived through a particularly grueling business week and was loaded down with stress, work tensions and frustration. A weekend getaway was the short term solution. We don't care for the... more

My husband and I got married at Highland Lake Inn on November 1st. Everything was amazing! We loved everyone that helped us with our wedding especially Sarah and Camie, we didn't have to worry about anything! The food was delicious! We got married down by the lake in front of the pine trees and it was gorgeous. We got so... more

This was our 3rd stay in one of the garden hamlet cottages adjacent to the Inn. The cottages are managed separately but you have use of the Inn's amenities. We were in Wood Duck, a brand new 2 bedroom, 2 bath cottage. Downstairs is a fully-equipped kitchen, living room with flat screen tv, dining table and chairs and a bedroom... more

We just can't say enough about the Highland Lake Inn. We held my daughters wedding here in October !! We've attended several destination weddings at quality facilities, but none can match our Highland Lake experience. The magnificant rustic and scenic beauty of the property, the professionalism and proficiency of the staff, the sleeping and meeting room accomodation options, the fabulous... more

Highland Lake Inn was the site for our 2008 Fall Management and Sales Retreat for our company. They provided excellent resources for various activities, fabulous food at their Season's restaurant, and a professional and caring staff. I would highly reccommend this property to anyone looking for a truly unique experience. more
