I just stayed here this past weekend over the Memorial Day holiday. We stayed in one of the small rooms above the general store. Although the room was small it was very clean and comfortable. Also the employees who worked in the lodge and general store were very friendly and helpful. My only complaint about Austin's was the wifi. It... More

Our check in was easy and quick. The rooms were large, clean and comfortable. If you have a problem with carrying luggage up the steps ask for a room downstairs as they have no elevator. A rustic feel to this place adds to the ambiance. The general store has a small breakfast area with good food. I would stay here... More

Torrey is a cute little town. Given the size of the town and the limited places to stay we chose Austin's Chuckwagon. This is a motel style place with a few cabins available. I wouldn't ordinarily ever rate a motel a 5 but here's why I am doing so. 1) The staff were incredibly friendly and hospitable. 2) The cabin... More

Even though I arrived very early, I was given the worst room in the hotel : right next to the main office (with a door communicating, so it doesn't feel private at all), so I could hear the phone ringing, and the customers talking to the front desk. The floor is very thin too, so stomping from the upstair neighboors... More

We stayed 1 night at the Chuckwagon Lodge on a family trip through the Utah National Parks. Our stay in Torrey was very nice. We went to check in about 7:30pm and the clerk had trouble finding our reservation (that I had confirmed 2 days prior). It took about 10 minutes to find it and we were then processed and... More

Staying there was like reliving the cowboy days of the '50's. When we booked our room... the description said "small". When we got there the room was larger than we expected. The room was clean. Was above the Deli... there was no noise. We did have some issues with the WiFi that night ...but in the morning during breakfast it... More

Torrey is a very small town so the location is on the main street. There are different accommodations including the rooms in the two-story building in the picture. There also are cabins plus a few small and older rooms above the general store. The store has a very good deli for breakfast and sandwiches.

We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom cabins - very nice size rooms, one bath. The living room had couch, TV coffee table. Only drawback was no dining area other than the bar with 2 stools (used it as countertop). Bed and linens ok (nothing spectacular). Nice to have a full fridge & freezer (small size) and microwave. No... More

We stayed in this motel in the big rock country of Torrey, near Capitol Reef National Park. There is very little choice around this area for lodging as the town is small and the distances to any other settlement are considerable - probably about fifty miles. The motel seems to have a long history, evidently starting out as about five... More

While touring the Utah Mighty Five National Parks, we spent one night at Austin's Chuckwagon Lodge. This is definitely the best place to stay in Torrey. It was clean, comfortable and convenient to Capitol Reef National Park. We stayed in the motel section, not in the original rooms. We understand the motel has the nicer rooms.
