Good prices good people and clean rooms. The maid was great. Jimmy and Cindy Weatherspoon The owners acted very friendly and nice. We called at the last minute and it was no problem getting a room. We also went the next weekend. Same service rooms were great we only stay on weekends. But I would have no problem staying for... More

After a fleeing unacceptable accommodations elsewhere, my sister and I approached The Harkers Island Fishing Center. Most of the reviews on Tripadvisor are for the hotel section, but the Fishing Center also offers vacation houses. We were going to be in town for over a week and wanted to be able to cook, so we rented the house on Diamond... More

Really I was expecting much worse. The place was clean although it was well worn and since they allow smokers there was the scent of cigarette smoke. We paid $70.00 for a large room with 2 double beds and a balcony. The other rooms range from $60.00 to $70.00 some have a microwave and refrigerator. Ours didn't but the view... More

I arrived late afternoon and we were the ONLY guests at the hotel. There was no one there to greet us, just our name on a piece of paper with the room number on it. The room was unlocked with the key in an ashtray. The room reaked of mold and mildew. The carpets had not been replaced in at... More

Then you'll love this place. That assumes you also would have loved the Bates Motel (from Psycho).Shag carpet, dark paneling, low ceilings, 70's style decor -- it really does look and feel like the kind of place where a multiple murder took place, back in the day. My wife and I have a thing for the macabre and love cheesy... More

My husband and I stayed there with our Boxer last week for three nights. We stayed in Room 20, which is one of the two waterfront rooms. Spectacular view.....rivals a $300 hotel room in that respect. The room, as expected, was dated, but clean. It smelled kinda old, but got better as we ran the AC....which I agree, is loud... More

Its everything and more that you would expect for this great little hide away. Its not over populated like all the other Beaches. The rooms are a throwback and that's what makes this spot even better. We loved this motel when it was just the two of us and still love it when its the six of us. You ride... More

Remember that this motel is in a Fishing Center! You should expect this: clean, basic rooms, a decent bed, cinderblock walls, small tv with remote, phone and hot showers. DO NOT expect this tobe the highlight of your vacation, rather, enjoy your proximity to the one of the more pristine vacation spots on the east coast, Cape Lookout National Seashore.... More

It's very much a 70's throwback. Decor, family-ish operations, squishy beds, the works. Hey, this place is a bargain & they'll take care of you, but if you go there expecting contemporary amenities like Hampton Inn, Fairfield, heck even Red Roof, you're not gonna like it... However, if you fondly remember strip motels dotting the Carolinas' & Florida's coasts, then... More

The HIFC is not claiming to be a fancy hotel. What they provided us was a clean, very inexpensive room in which to sleep and take good hot showers after sailing all day. Bring your own shampoo and hair dryer if you need them. They did provide plenty of towels and bar soap. The beds and linens were OK. The... More
