This was a wonderful place to stay. It is conveniently located and the rooms are, to say the least, extremely charming. Rebecca, the innkeeper, is kind and considerate and very accommodating. My wife described this as a B and B without the breakfast- although the restaurant across the street served as excellent meal.

Didn't know what to expect since it wasn't a chain hotel. BUT what a TERRIFC experience. Each room was furnished with what appeared one of a kind items. For instance our room had two different bed frames -- 1 with heavy wooden posts, the other with an unusual metal frame. It also had a church pew. Room was large. Owner,... More

At first glance, not so much- weathered by the sea- but very cute. The room was perfect, it reminded me of what a beach town inn should be like. Quaint, the room seemed vintage with all the amenities you need. The owner, Rebecca is super, super sweet!!! We will return! We wanted to stay another night, but no room for... More

First of all, this is not really a B&B. I would call it an old fashioned discount hotel. I stayed there as it was the only thing available on short notice under $200 a night. It is about what you would expect for a discount hotel - nothing fancy, but no serious problems. The "breakfast" consists of 2 danishes -... More

My wife and I made a short (1 night, 2 day) trip to Manteo, mainly to see the 'Lost Colony' performance. From previous Trip Advisor reviews this seemed like the best and most economical location for this short stay. And that it absolutely was! The entire facility has 14 rooms and the owner/innkeeper (Rebecca) takes special care of and interest... More

We stayed here during a road trip around the South, using it as a base to visit both Roanoke and the Outer Banks. This is a straightforward motel, offering comfortable clean rooms, in our case with rather a nice porch for sitting out. We were made to feel welcome and the advice we received on the local area was helpful.... More

Wife and I decided to make a last minute trip to the outer banks. While searching all the standard booking sites and finding rooms limited and prices higher than we preferred. The Scarborough Inn showed up with a reasonable price and we booked it. We were quite pleased with our stay and will return in the future. Some of the... More

I recently booked a trip to The Scarborough Inn in Manteo, NC. During the week of travel, my daughter became ill. Although I was beyond the cancellation period, the hotel allowed me to adjust my dates. A day later, my daughter was hospitalized. Recognizing I had to honor the terms of my agreement, I fully expected the hotel to charge... More

I always stay at the Scarborough Inn when I am in the Manteo area. It is very clean, well kept up, with fresh paint in every room, and care taken to make your stay comfortable. It is a family run operation, with lovely antiques in the rooms, but nice modern appliances, and conveniences such as a flat screen TV, refrigerator,... More

Stayed 2 nights. Location is fine- convenient for breakfast (as you don't want to eat what's provided; two packaged pastries) with several options close by. Room was smallish, temperatures were cold so the a/C heater unit would kick in periodically sounding like a 747 on take-off... Rooms were clean enough but really fairly basic. Price is OK but you get... More
