Just as the title of my post says - the Tranquil House Inn's name speaks for itself. I was traveling for work and was told by a co-worker they accepted the state rate in the office season for business travel. I arrived around 4pm on a Sunday and as past reviews have stated - Manteo is pretty much a ghost town after dark and on Sundays! It was quiet and just want I wanted - if I had wanted busy I would have stayed on the beach road! Check in was a breeze and I was told I had a water front room - which was a surprise considering the state rate usually gets you a bare basic no frills room! I stayed in Room 12 over looking the Roanoke Island Festival Grounds and water. It was very quiet. I think there were probably 4 rooms occupied, as in November is not a popular beach time. The room was nice, with hard wood floors and rugs. The bathroom was decent and provided basic amenities such as soaps and shampoo.
