After Nags Head dropping into the Roanoke Island Inn was heavenly. The front at Manteo is quiet, classy and has interesting shops. We took bikes from the Inn and toured the Island which has many lovely houses. The visit to the Farm was very interesting giving a good insight into the ways things used to be. The Inn was spacious... More

What a great weekend at the Roanoke and in Manteo. The location and views are perfect. The back yard fish pond and gazebo were great for our morning coffee. Innkeepers were very welcoming and made us feel right at home. The self-serve pantry is a great idea. We will definitely return.

My husband and I decided to extend our OBX vacation by staying in Manteo 2 days before we checked into our Corolla beach house. Thanks to Innkeeper, Dee, helping us reserve the pet-friendly room, we had the pre-vacation dreams are made of. Perfect location, lovely room, incomparable hospitality, beautiful gardens and Koi pond, and the most friendly, personable staff I have... More

Took my in-laws here for their birthdays and we were not disappointed. Beautiful rooms and the porch with the rocking chairs was the icing on the cake. I also like how they had a help yourself kitchen area. Lots of snacks, beverages and morning pastries. All included. Not everyone likes have breakfast with strangers everyday at a set time. Being... My Husband and I decided last minute for a getaway to go to Manteo overnight. We did not have any accommodations booked and just walked in off the street to find this gem. Our room was lovely and the hotel has beautiful views on either side. One overlooks the Harbor and the lighthouse. The other overlooks a beautiful garden area... More

We just finished our second 4 day trip to the Cottage and it was as wonderful as the first. Dee is fantastic at delivering everything you need, and the home continues to be in pristine condition. Plenty of snacks and water in the fridge, and you can get whatever you need from the Inn which is just a quarter of... More

Innkeeper Dee and assistant keeper Sarah are the definition of southern hospitality and graciousness. They were so friendly, knowledgeable about the area's rich history, and willing to take the time to tell us about it and other attractions. They made our stay so special! Thank you ladies! My sister and I first visited the Roanoke Island Inn in the summer... More

My wife and I stayed here on a short 5 day trip to Roanoke Island and Nags Head. The first thing I should say is that Dee, the manager, was extremely responsive to an issue that arose with our room (related to a health problem with my wife). I was very grateful for this, and my wife and I subsequently... More

What an amazing, hospitable and slightly quirky place to stay. In a lovely quiet spot, right on the waterfront, and an easy stroll from to the old town where there are some great little restaurants and shops. We enjoyed excellent service from genuinely friendly, helpful staff. The rooms are beautifully furnished and very comfortable. From the gorgeous 'handmade bed quilts... More

My wife and I have been staying at the Roanoke Island Inn off and on for 7 or 8 years now. The house and gardens are so inviting you feel at home. Dee the manger is a hoot and has the low down on whats happening around town (which isn't much- just enough) that's part of what makes it so... More
