I have stayed at surf side since 1966 on and off through the years, but have stayed in almost every cottage and some several years in a row. This was a family reunion with people flying in from all over. We rented 3 cottages all together. One of the cottages was refurbished, and it showed. Thank goodness it was the one my 87 year old mother stayed in. It would have been horrible if her’s was not redone. Our cottage had ripped mattress pads, peeling veneer off the closets, the mattresses were horrible. Nothing like meeting in the middle all night long ! When we got there our refrigerator was warm inside. Apparently they don’t have fans and have to be out from the wall with all sides exposed to work. So we transferred our food to my moms fridge until the next day when it started working. Also our cottage screen porch door would not close, we told the manager but it was never fixed. The third cottage was the worst. There is a rooftop sitting area and every chair was broken. The furniture was old, traffic constant (sleeping was rough) and just dark and dank. On top of that we had a list on the refrigerator on how to scrub the toilet, shower, sink and the rest of the cottage when we leave. Really? You pay $3,000 a week and have to clean? Does that mean we have to trust the person before us to clean for us? So sad that after all these years we won’t be returning. We really love Wellfleet, our second home, but this really put a damper on our vacation.

We stayed in the Pond View Cottage for a week, which was perfectly located -- it's about 20 minutes walk to Cahoon Hollow Beach. But even better, it's about a 5 minute walk through the forest down to a semi-private entrance onto Gull Pond, which is one of the freshwater kettle ponds. The water temperature in the pond is much warmer than the ocean, and it's so quiet that it feels like your own private retreat. The house is likewise very isolated from any neighbors -- we couldn't see the next house over from the balcony, though we did have a great view of Gull Pond, and of the wild turkeys roosting in the trees out back each evening.

These cottages are located in my favorite location in Wellfleet, in the National Seashore. The ocean here is clean and lovely and you can walk barefoot to the shore. We check the water in evening and morning to see the waves. I love the unpretentious ‘50s architecture of the cottages, which allow the cool ocean breezes to flow through. Armand and Lisa are wonderful hosts and do a fantastic job!

My husband and I have stayed at the "Beach Walk" cottage every June for about 12 years now & we love walking to the ocean beach every day. But I want to write about the care of Blue Sky Property Management, and Armand, Lisa, and Peter. I left my new ipad behind this year in an odd place, and Armand did not rest until he had found it and mailed it to me. This took going above and beyond in many ways. They have always been so gracious and helpful and the cottage has always been wonderfully clean. The location is gorgeous, the cottage is convenient -- and the management folks will make sure that your stay goes well -- even after you leave!

We rented Pretty Penny cottage at the last minute for a week in July. The neighborhood where the cottages are located is absolutely beautiful. The ocean is wonderful. It was so peaceful to listen to the waves from the cottage. Armand and Lisa are great managers and very responsive. The cottage is simple but had everything we needed. We had a great week in Wellfleet at Surf Side cottages.

We've been renting the same cottage for over a decade. Luxurious: No. Fantastic vacation: Yes. It all depends on what you want. This is an incredibly beautiful and serene part of Cape Cod. Not a tourist area, but right in the middle of the national seashore. The pretty spartan cabin we rent, Oceanside, has all the amenities you need, but it's not a fancy resort. We go there to get totally relaxed.

Very special spot with great ocean view.Surf side cottages have a long history of excellent service and a better location on the National Seashore is hard to find in a summer rental. My family has stayed atthis house many times,it is just wonderful to fall asleep to the music of the ocean

We spent 3 nights at one of the Surf Side cottages. It was 440 Nellie Rd. which was located snugly in the dunes at the end of a dead end road overlooking the ocean. No better location in my book! Imagine watching a pod of whales feeding right out in front! I could watch them through the wall of large windows from a comfy chair inside the cottage while sipping my morning tea. You could see them with the naked eye but binoculars gave a fantastic view. We spotted them all 4 days we were there. The cottage is an oasis of privacy and quiet, at least in late Oct. It is convenient to Rt. 6 but off the beaten path. Below the dunes stretch miles of sandy beach. In a relatively short time we drove to hike at the Wellfleet Audubon Refuge, Nauset Marsh, Montomy Point in Chatham and down to P'Town and the Province lands. There was a lovely new deck on 2 sides of the cottage with comfortable seating, picnic table, umbrella and clothes line. Everything we needed was provided although to save a bit we brought our own sheets and towels. The cottage was clean and management was cheerful and helpful. They quickly attended to a problem with the heat and offered any assistance we might need. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone who wants a peaceful get-away in a prime location.

We stayed in the beautiful Solymar cottage with our sister and brother in law and our dog. The house was clean and well appointed including laundry in the basement. Two decks afford sun and shade- and a big view of the ocean. We watched the sun and moon rise, saw meteors and cooked every meal. The kitchen has everything we needed. I was truly sad to leave. Beach is close, too. Armand is very nice all the time which really makes a big difference to me. Thank you, Armand!
