My husband and I were married at the Holden Inn in July 2014. We were looking for a place in Wellfleet because we have spent many summer family vacations in Wellfleet, and just thought that we would see if there was a reasonable option to get married there. The Holden Inn is it! If you are looking for an intimate... More

I don't understand some of the reviews of this place. It was perfect for us. It had atmosphere, views and a wonderful price. I adore Wellfleet and we usually rent a house for a week in July and return for a weekend in August the motels on route 6 are way overpriced, no atmosphere and overall kind of dreary. This... More

My husband and I went last summer, and was pleasantly surprised. The price was approx 1/3 of the other Inns, yet I never felt like I was staying at a budget hotel. The grounds are pretty, and the location is good. All in all, I would definitely choose to stay here again based on price, accommodations, and location.

The Holden Inn has a wonderful location and looks great from the outside. The rooms in the main building are up an incredibly steep and rather dangerous staircase, except for one costly suite located on the main floor. The rooms in the lodge are tiny with shared baths. The cottage has nice rooms, tho old and dated. Ditto for the bathrroms.... More

The bride booked the 2 day wedding after a tour of the property a year before her day because of the location and that the property was of the mid 1800 era and had the Cape Cod charm which is not to every ones liking. It was her day not others. She was given a wedding packet which completely explains... More

Charming from the outside, nice location, pretty views, but the inside of several rooms lacked general care and proper cleaning. It's not the occasional spider that threw us, it was the black mold in the small shower stalls, smells and dust. All the bedding was quite worn and didn't feel fresh. Other guests shared the same view. Some of the... More

We were on the Cape for July weekend wedding and decided to stretch our time a few nights. The Holden Inn was a great spot. We stayed in the Lodge and went back to a simpler time. Nice and quiet and the shared bath option was not a problem with the outdoor showers and great porch to have coffee in... More

Before I write the actual review I want to add a disclaimer. This is a review of MY personal experience and is not intended to discount or detract from the great experiences of others. Additionally, I have read a lot of reviews and responses from the owner to those reviews and want to make it known that it is not... More

Hello to all reviewers-it has given me almost 2 weeks to give you a decent and honest response to this reviewer. Your introduction is quite whitty to say the least. It is a shame that you and your wife could not enjoy your stay at the Inn and Wellfleet as many others have, but instead found fault and attacked anything... More

A friend and I stayed at the Holden Inn mid June 2014, and were disappointed. We had a two bedroom suite. My bedroom had a bad smell and wasn't very clean. The shared bathroom was not clean, and worst of all the bathtub would not drain properly. We left a night early due to this problem, as on our second... More

Some people should never go to an old New England Inn as for a building's age-175 years old may have a different smell which does not mean it is dirty. We are known for our cleanliness and in fact the bathroom was just repainted so how could it be dirty. As for the tub-the drain worked perfectly-the claw foot tub... More
