We had a mix up at check in (they thought we'd checked in already?!), but it was sorted pretty quickly and our room was ok, clean and well equipped, but really dark and gloomy. Spent 2 nights in Chinle at the Best Western in September 2009. Hotel was typical Best Western - clean and functional. Front desk staff extremely friendly and helpful. I think all hotels in Chinle are overpriced. We tried this one as it was the cheapest (but not what I would consider cheap - $98!) Pros are large, clean rooms with a refrigerator. The service was quick and friendly. Cons were the water ran brownish. Didn't use the pool, spa, or on-site restaurant, so can't comment on those. If... more

We stayed at the hotel right outside Canyon de Chelly. It is overpriced, but, there are few hotels in the area, so there is little competition. The rooms are clean and comfortable - a bit on the small side. There was a restaurant at the hotel, so there was no continental breakfast. There was also no microwave in the room.... more

The hotel is OK, clean, A/C & WiFi work, etc. but nothing special. The restaurant (Junction something) is useless. Service is not attentive, food is bland, not even enough salt. At check out you find out about the taxes: Lodgers Tax, State Tax, Navajo Nation Tax (!), Energy Surcharge. It's unreal. more

Chinle is an sordid and repellent village you would certainly avoid, if it wasn't for the magnificent Canyon de Chelly. And the Best Western shares this gruesome atmosphere.
