Nice grounds, good rooms, most amenities. The cafeteria is quite good and reasonable. The trading post carries high end merchandise. Why stay at a chain when you can support a local business? You're right At the base of the south rim drive, very convenient

Although we did stay hear, the Sacred Canyon Lodge offers no view, like it's sister hotel, The View in monument valley. Several other hotels in the area just as convenient, less than minutes from the North & South rim drives and most tours pick you up at your hotel. The lodge only offers a cafeteria and it is not that... More

My 21-year-old daughter and I stayed here the night before taking a jeep tour thru the canyon. We had a room with two doubles (maybe queens) and the room was perfectly clean (I own a janitorial company so I am pretty picky about room cleanliness!). We had a very nice dinner at the cafeteria and it we had a ton... More

Clean, spacious room. Bed moves it is so jigglely and mattress needs to be flipped over as it is lopsided. Foam pillows are of the $1 store variety. Bed linens don,t feel fresh but rather like used, second hand and sadly faded. The Dark blue towels are faded and should be relinquished to the rag pile. Room lacks a basic... More

This hotel was actually inside the Canyon de Chelly and is operated by a Navajo company. I found it to be much more charming than the two chain hotels located outside the canyon. It is like an old-fashioned motel but was clean, nicely furnished. Certainly it had lots of character. The cafeteria next door had a great breakfast. The trading... More

The wonderful location at Canyon de Chelly and this being a more local place instead of the normal chain-hotels, was what made us choose Sacred Canyon Lodge. It looked very nice and appealing with the fall colours when we arrived but we had a few unfortunate experiences there. Had booked a room with king size bed but the room we... More

A bit ragged around the edges, but lots more character than a Holiday Inn. Clean rooms, adequate bath. Heating unit is pretty noisy but gets the job done since it was about 20 degrees outside. Probably more pleasant in summer months. Price is reasonable. Large gift shop especially good for Navaho jewelry--pricey however.

We struggled to find the Lodge at first. A few u-turns, various attempts and checking the GPS - we finally arrived. The room was clean, staff was helpful. The only down side, when we asked out tours the next day, whilst we were provided a piece of paper with tour guide, names and mobiles, no indication on cost. When we asked... More

Because this hotel is one of only a few options in Chinle, I gave a five rating. It's clean. And warm. That's all you really need. And, it's situated less than a minute from the mouth of Canyon de Chelly, which is the purpose of nearly all visits to Chinle. Because all the local tour guides are so familiar with... More

Old fashioned motor-lodge style rooms, with rustic Native American decor. Extremely quiet with thick walls, very clean. Cafeteria on site where you can get all of your meals. Very convenient to book tours or head out on your own to the view points and trails in the canyon. This is not a hotel, it's about being close to nature.
