We were very pleased with our stay here. The room was good-sized, clean and comfortable. We had a garden view room. The only thing missing was a little fridge in the room. I would recommend it without hesitation. There is no swimming pool, but for a good reason as the region is so dry.

After a rather dreary drive through the town of Chinle we were pleasantly surprised by this nice hotel in a quiet green location. Our room was big (2 queens and a sitting area). The Wifi didn't work very well but that's the only negative. The cafeteria nearby is visited by locals, compensating the very basic food (we had breakfast there).... More

Stayed there July 2014. Rooms are clean (as pretty much everywhere in the USA is) and comfy enough in an unremarkable way. The main limitation is the opening hours of the restaurant. It closes at 19.30 local time, but if you're visiting this motel, you're likely to be on a driving tour or road trip of some kind, and if... More

Check in was easy and we had a lovely room looking over the grassed area. The ac in our rom was high on the wall making it really cold in bed. The positioning of the unit wasn't great. The place seemed very empty. We enjoyed our drive along the rim but as others have said,,at every stop it was marred... More

the name is fascinating . so don't judge by that. it's a huge motel . rooms are ok . no scenery around . the funny part is when i booked it showed only three rooms available , but when we reached there 80% of the motel was empty. The restaurant is also different. Its a like a school cafeteria. Food... More

This is a motel style operation just inside the entrance to Canyon de Chelly Park. This are no views or scenery near the lodge. It is just a convenient stop over for park visitors. Our room was large and clean, but with some maintenance problems. There was a TV in the room, but there was no Wi-Fi available. The only... More

After driving through the somewhat run-down town of Chinle, it was a breath of fresh air to book into this modest but comfortable and tranquil lodge, immediately abutting the main road that runs along Canyon de Chelly. The fact that it is Navajo owned and run adds an extra feeling of authenticity. Make sure you read the notes by the... More

Our room was very large and included a sitting area, which was nice, and it was clean and comfortable. The food at the cafeteria was good, with some interesting Navajo dishes. A very peaceful location that was convenient to all activities in and around the park.

We chose this accommodation because it's actually in the park, although the nearby Holiday Inn is also conveniently located. It is an historic building, and quite adequate for our needs though even with the change of name (used to be Thunderbird Lodge I think) it could do with a facelift. We had breakfast in the restaurant, which was o.k. The... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lodge during our visit to Canyon de Chelly. It is the only lodging available inside the park and we found it to be quite comfortable and clean. We did not experience the water temperature variation that the shower sign indicated. The adjoining Thunderbird cafeteria serves 3 meals a day and we also found... More
