The lodge is in a nice setting with big cottonwood trees, but the rooms are in dire need of some work. The bathroom was clean and it looked like the tub and toilet had recently been replaced, but the carpet in the room and the bedding are really in need of some attention. The room had a pretty bad odor... More

The lodge is not one of the fancy historic lodges you sometimes find in the National Parks. We liked it because it was clean, simple and very convenient to the canyon. The front desk service was good as was housekeeping. We requested a refrigerator for our room and it was delivered within 20 minutes. The Thunderbird restaurant, located near the... More

I like this place. It's an old and well maintained place. It felt like a very good camp. We escaped all of our electronics for 5 days and liked that as well. I felt like we had an opportunity to immerse ourselves in the natural beauty of de Chelly. Considering the location, I don't need not want a fancy hotel... More

This is a perfectly acceptable and convenient lodge at Canyon de Chelly; don't expect anything fancy and you won't be disappointed. The location is very good, just a minute's drive from the Rim of the canyon, and our tour left from there which was a bit of a benefit. Check in went smoothly and we found our room,#84, to be... This lodge's main attraction is its position, just near the two sides of the Canyon de Chelly. the rooms are fine, if a little tired. There is really not a lot to say about it, nothing is exceptionally good or bad. The food provision is canteen-style. Wi-Fi provision patchy. We had a faulty telephone, which was replaced promptly and pleasantly.

It's hard to believe this is a sister hotel to The View in Monument Valley, which is a great place. The Sacred Canyon rooms' plumbing was erratic at best and the restaurant cafeteria food was terrible. And no one seems to care if you're a guest or not. The attitude at the front desk was indifferent and unwelcoming. What's with... More

From the outside this lodge looked very much ok, but once inside it tells a different story : the service at the reception desk is very poor (three ladies, while none seemed to notice us), there was neither a safe nor a fridge in the room. The window is impossible to open, the beds are worn out. Wifi is very,... More

We were happy staying at the Sacred Canyon Lodge. The beds were comfortable and the room was a nice size. It was nice to have a ceiling fan. The grounds were nice and it was perfect to be where all the tours left. We did not pre-book a tour so we were able to meet the guides and set up... More

I am very happy we stayed at the Sacred Canyon Lodge for our visit to Canyon de Chelly. After reading some of the reviews, I was a little worried and had also reserved a room at the Best Western in Chinle, which I ended up canceling. The Lodge was much nicer than I had anticipated. The grounds were nice and... More

Sacred Canyon Lodge is probably not the best lodging in the area, but the Best Western and Holiday Inn are located in Chinle, which hasn't much positive ambiance. Sacred Canyon is inside Canyon de Chelly Park and is a bit quieter and has a bit more atmosphere. As said by others, this isn't a pristine National Park lodge, but it... More
