This is a motel style operation just inside the entrance to Canyon de Chelly Park. This are no views or scenery near the lodge. It is just a convenient stop over for park visitors. Our room was large and clean, but with some maintenance problems. There was a TV in the room, but there was no Wi-Fi available. The only... More

After driving through the somewhat run-down town of Chinle, it was a breath of fresh air to book into this modest but comfortable and tranquil lodge, immediately abutting the main road that runs along Canyon de Chelly. The fact that it is Navajo owned and run adds an extra feeling of authenticity. Make sure you read the notes by the... More

Our room was very large and included a sitting area, which was nice, and it was clean and comfortable. The food at the cafeteria was good, with some interesting Navajo dishes. A very peaceful location that was convenient to all activities in and around the park.

We chose this accommodation because it's actually in the park, although the nearby Holiday Inn is also conveniently located. It is an historic building, and quite adequate for our needs though even with the change of name (used to be Thunderbird Lodge I think) it could do with a facelift. We had breakfast in the restaurant, which was o.k. The... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lodge during our visit to Canyon de Chelly. It is the only lodging available inside the park and we found it to be quite comfortable and clean. We did not experience the water temperature variation that the shower sign indicated. The adjoining Thunderbird cafeteria serves 3 meals a day and we also found... More

We really enjoyed this accommodation as was different from other run of the mill hotel/motels. We found the staff really helpful particularly when we had booked 3 nights and decided to move on after the second night as it was raining and were happily reimbursed with our third nights charge. The accommodation we found to be very comfortable, warm and... More

This hotel is in Canyon de Chelly. The staff was very friendly. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. The WIFI worked well, but no reception for my AT&T cellphone. There is a sign in the shower warning that the water goes from hot to cold and back again and it really did happen. There is no... More

The location is great, inside the park but the owner has neglected this property. We stayed two nights and our room was unattended, no maid service. The bath/tub faucets were loose in the wall and the top edge of the shower had a years' worth of dirt on it, disgusting. The Manager allowed an unchaperoned group of loud teenagers, about... More

The lodge has several different constructions some of which may be more modern than the King room that we occupied in the center of the facility. There were several difficulties with our lodging. The A/C was not working so we removed the filter which was thoroughly clogged and when it was cleared, got OK air. The door to our cabin... More

Sacred Lodge is in Canyon de Chelly National Monument. It's run by the Navajo Nation and that's all I needed to know to make a reservation. The Lodge offers good, clean rooms with all the amenities. The staff is friendly and helpful. No, they don't have large bars of soap or a swimming pool. But consider where it's located. Water... More
