We enjoyed our stay in the Medium Hogan at Spider Rock Campground. It was a unique, fun break from tent camping. It was plenty spacious for both of us and our gear and was a cozy, comfortable place to spend the night. Plus not having to set up / take down a tent meant more time for exploring the canyon.... I had read the reviews and was entirely happy and enjoyed this alternative overnight stay. I paid $29 for a small hogan, $7 for a (clean) sleeping bag/pillow/blanket, $2, 50 for a shower, $2 for 24hrs of Wi-Fi access and $6 for firewood. Took my own food/drinks, do this because other than excellent fry-bread ($2 ) there was none I... More

We stay here while enjoying Canyon de Chelley, only place to camp in the park! The owners wife makes fresh frybread while you stand there, his son makes sure your camp site is perfect, a real family operation. Very rustic, but so dark at night and quiet you are not really sure where you are, you enter another world here... More

We stayed here for one night in the middle of winter while on a 13 day road trip through the southwest US. I gotta say it was one of our favorite experiences on the whole trip. We stayed in the large hogan and were the only people around on the property as far as I could tell (it was middle... More

This was a stop over during a road trip in the Four Corners region, en route to Mesa Verde. It was cold, and in the preseason time of year (March), so there were no showers. We stayed in a hogan, and the camp host gave us extra wood to keep a fire going all night. The Hogan was quite cozy... More

We recently stayed at Spider Rock while my husband was there shooting "The Lone Ranger".Weather at this time can be a little iffy, 80 degree days or snow. We have a 40 ft fifthwheel toyhauler and the had a really nice spot with a dump at the site. Howard, the owner is a very lovely man and very accomodating. There... More

We really enjoyed our stay in this campground. It is rustic but that is part of the appeal for us. We had a beautiful quiet spot with plenty of room for our fifth wheel trailer. (We do not use a generator as we have solar panels.) Howard was our guide for a Jeep tour and he arranged for his nephew,... More

I recently returned to hike in Canyon de Chelly National Monument in February and I rented the medium hogan at Spider Rock Campground. Although the weather outside was quite cold, I was able to stay warm at night with a good down sleeping bag, good long underwear, and the wood stove. This is a great alternative to staying in a... I rented the cozy small hogan which was equipped with a wood stove and a comfortable futon mattress. I had a wonderful experience. The host was very accommodating, and the grounds and restrooms were neat and clean. The camp store sells some food and cooking gas, as well as Navajo jewelry and other items. I was also able to take... More

As an Englishman I simply can't understand the whole "RV" thing, and this campsite was fantastic because it kept them all away. If you want a hotel go there, if you want to live in an oversized caravan goes elsewhere. For camping this site is great. Rustic site, the loos are basic but functional, there is drinking water from a... More
