I specifically liked the room interiors. Non traditional boutique style ambience gave the room a beautiful and lively character. I love the colorful accent pillows! The staff were friendly and accommodating especially the housekeepers. They go an extra mile to make our stay memorable and comfortable. Centrally located in the Gaslamp area allowing me to access the commercial district by... More

Stayed here four nights; first time in this hotel. You may know that this is a converted bank building, and it definitely has the coolest building décor I’ve ever seen in a hotel. The rooms have a clean, minimalist vibe (dark wood; white everything else), and my room was fairly quiet except for a nearby wedding party and some utility... More

We wanted to stay in downtown & close to all the action in Gas Lamp. This was a perfect location for us & close to everything. It was a nice & clean hotel and reasonably priced. We had a great vacation & walked to restaurants in downtown. It was a good experience & we love San Diego.

I stayed here once 15 years ago when they first opened. I recently stayed again right after a major room renovation. What I love about this property is its not really a Courtyard. I mean it is by name but because its a historic building nothing is cookie cutter. It oozes character. The only down side to that is some... More

We traveled to San Diego for Valentine's weekend and chose Courtyard Gaslamp after doing some research online. The hotel is about 10 minutes from the airport. When we arrived just after noon, our room was ready so we took our bags to the room. Our room, a Double Queen w/City View was very nice and clean. It was just a... More

I stayed at the Courtyard San Diego Downtown during a business trip in February, 2015. Below are my thoughts. Rooms: The rooms are updated modern, and unlike any other Courtyard property. The linens are not standard Courtyard, and resemble higher level brands like the JW or the Ritz. The beds are also upgraded, with pillow tops and multi-sized pillows. I... More

This was a beautiful hotel. Easy walking to a number of areas downtown. The staff was amazing, especially helpful was Ryan at the front desk. She gave us a lot of great tips on restaurants. All perfect. The bar tender/barista was also wonderful. The first 2 nights we stayed in Rm 108, nice big room with an old walk in vault... More

We wanted to stay in Gaslamp and this hotel was at the border. Beautifully restored building. Rooms were smaller than expected, they offered me complimentary upgrade for a suite, which I happily accepted but what we received was a similar room with a sofa instead of the additional queen bed. We used the room for sleeping only, therefore I didnt... More

We wanted to stay in the Gaslamp but this location turned out to be just as good. It borders Gaslamp and is close to other areas we wanted to walk. The hotel is in a beautifully restored building, the lobby is large and inviting and the rooms are very nice. We didn't try the restaurant so uncertain about the food... More

The building was built in 1928, originally a magnificent bank built before the crash of 1929. The lobby is spectacular and the beauty and craftsmanship extends into the rooms. There are visual and tactile treasures throughout this hotel, including the granite floors in the lobbies of the floors in front of the elevators. The doors to the room are thick... More
