Coming back from 6+ months on a submarine deployed to the Pacific, my now fiance surprised me with a room at the Marriott in downtown San Diego. As all the other reviews will tell you, the decor is amazing, rooms are clean and spacious, and it's close to all the fun times in downtown SD. But the best part was... More

This building was originally a bank, and the lobby has a very high ceiling with columns of marble and marble floors. The vault is in the basement and is used as a meeting room, with the original thick metal door still on. The rooms have recently been redone and are very nicely furnished and a good size. They were originally... More

This is a cool, funky property with super friendly and accomodating staff. The location is smack dab in the middle of downtown! I checked in on my birthday and was pleasantly surprised to get upgraded! The room was very spacious and very, very clean. I really enjoyed my stay!

If you're looking for a great hotel close to the Gaslamp District, I would highly recommend this property. If you love architecture and old buildings, you will likely appreciate the history and style of the property. The hotel it is close to all of the nightlife activities and close enough to Seaport Village that you can walk there (we did)... More

The was by far the best trip my husband and I have been on in a while. Maximilian went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. He surprised us with chocolate covered strawberries and champagne the first night we were here and surprised us again with a view at the top of the hotel on our last night here.... More

This is such a cool place the fact that is an old bank makes it all the more cool. They have kept so much of the original building it makes it just ssssoooo cool. What I find so interesting is that it is very reasonable almost every time I am there. This time was short notice and they as usual... More

Very beautiful hotel, cheerful staff, comfortable bed, very clean in all areas, and the food in their restaurant was surprisingly good. Only disappointment was the coffee bar, the Starbuck's offerings there seemed more expensive than at an actual Starbuck's. Overall, great stay.

Stayed here August 15-21, 2015 on business. Awesome hotel and customer service!!! The ambiance, amenities, and service at this hotel extend far beyond the typical Marriott Courtyard (which are generally very good). This is a gorgeous hotel in a very carefully converted historic bank building. Engaging architecture, hand painted lobby ceiling, polished marble, dark wood doors and cabinetry, original iron... Good location in Gaslamp area. Rooms and lobby are very nice and spacious. The old bank atmosphere is retained in the renovation and conversion to a hotel. Lots of nice details are kept by Marriott which adds lots of character. Very clean and well kept interior. I would stay here again.

Excellent customer service. Nice clean room which was also quiet like I requested. Very unique architecture. The hotel is located where an old bank used to be. Central location in gas lamp district. Walkable to everything including Padres baseball stadium. Would stay again if in the area. Park around the corner in one of many garages to save a few... More
