I was attending a conference at the San Diego Convention Center. And Housing Personnel in charge of the conference priced this hotel at $147.00. Unknown to me and/or the housing personnel...there was an additional Occupancy/Tourism Tax of $15.53 AND a marketing tax of $2.94. So, the room was actually $165.47. My room was a King bed. It seemed to be... more

The purpose of our trip was to take our 3 year old daughter to the Zoo and Sea World and a business meeting for myself. Upon arrival we were not offerred any help with our luggage. Check-in was smooth. The room was quite small and congested. The bathroom only had a shower. The sink is what was out of place.... more

Just got back from a long weekend at the US Grant and it was wonderful. The staff was great and I felt like they were really trying to give us a great weekend. They remembered our names, and made sure we had everything we needed. The rooms were absolutely gorgeous. I didn't mind that they were on the small side... more

The US Grant is a fabulous hotel in a perfect downtown location. It has a real sense of history to it and the decor and furnishings reflect that. The hotel recently underwent a major renovation so it looks spectacular but it is still a hotel that is close to 100 years old so it has its own eccentricities - we... more

When I reserved this hotel for myself and my colleagues, I expected it to be a very good hotel. The staff were welcoming, when it got to the room it was disappointing. The room I was given overlooked a central roof area, and you could see directly into the adjoining room across the way (about 15 feet). When I came... more

Absolutely beautiful. Classy. Great service. A true landmark that has been well maintained and a staff that gives great attention to detail, comfort and customer service. I just can't imagine that there is a better hotel in San Diego. I've pretty much traveled the world, spending 100+ nights a year in hotels and this one is at or near the... more

We just left San Diego on our trip through California. My husband and I are Starwood Preferred Members, and we chose to stay at the US Grant. From the pictures online, it looked wonderful. It truly exceeded our expectations. We have travel many places in the world, and this was by far one of the best hotels we have stayed... more

I stayed at the US Grant on a business trip while in San Diego for a conference and was pleased with the stay. When I arrived I was given a suite on the 8th floor based on the deal that I booked, and was actually upgraded to a nicer one, though in reality I couldn't tell the difference. The suite... more

This is a great hotel that is comfortable and classy. I stayed in a deluxe corner room on the sixth floor. Very comfortable and nice. The bar and bartender (Bruce?) were top notch. The food was excellent. This place is also walking distance to the Harbor (10 minutes) and the gaslamp quarter (1-5 minutes). Lots of fun night clubs within... more
