Lafayette Hotel and Suites was the absolute worst hotel I have ever stayed at in my entire life. I booked this hotel to be in Hotel circle and close to Sea World. The title when booking the location was "HOTEL CIRCLE". They were not in hotel circle. They were in an area I did not feel comforatable with my 6... more

The hotel was okay but definately not three stars. The staff was co-operative. Very close to the sandiego zoo. Has lots of fast food and a grocery store closeby. Overall was pleasurable. more

We only stayed one night but it was well worth experiencing this wonderful hotel. It has been updated but still has the era of the 1940's feel about it. There are black and white pictures in the lobby of famous stars who stayed there in the early years. Very nice large pool area and spacious clean rooms. We could have... more

Those old school stars are turning over in their graves if they could see this name sake place. We drove up and a beer bottle on the steps in front, this was a clue of what was to follow. I've been to old historic hotels and/or motels this one falls very short. The lobby furniture was very worn, with fake... more

Stayed during the last week in July. Was a huge convention time period, so for the money, this was about the best thing available. The hotel itself is very unique, as are some of the locals who patronize it. It seems that the management is banking on its uniqueness and history and failing to do the things necessary to keep... more

Omg, this hotel was a nightmare! I was scared to walk into my room and when I did I almost fainted! The room was dark, stunk like someone died, bathroom was filthy, tiles were cracked, carpet and couches were stained, and a bed filled with cigarette burns! My fiancé and I went straight to the front desk to leave asap.... more

Did not enjoy staying at this hotel at all. Stayed two nights in a second storey pool side room. The man at check in was not helpful nor friendly, the pool was green (we were told it would be clean our second day there but it looked just as green as when we checked in and it didn't look like... more

We normally stay in Super 8 or Motel 6 type hotels, so when I saw the Lafayette hotel rated 3 stars for a slightly higher price, I booked it. Even though the staff was friendly and the lobby was beautiful, the rooms were horrible. There were holes in the wall, the bathroom doors didn't shut, the towel rack was missing,... more
