This is a lovely hotel! It starts at the front desk- superb staff, willing to assist you in any way. The rooms are delightful- large, clean, just beautiful. The location is right in the middle of everything. You can walk to the water, to many restaurants, bars, shopping. I'd recommend this hotel to family and friends in a heartbeat. If... More

I frequently seek out hotels part of the "Leading Hotels of the World" group, especially when traveling for business. What you get is a unique old world experience of wonderful service and interesting decor. It's a nice break from the standardized cookie cutter experience of big chains like the Marriotts and Hyatts. The Westgate was no exception in regard to... More

The decor is a little dated. The hotel was built in the 70's could use a re-fresh. Staff is helpful and the restaurant was good. I would stay here again as long as I got a good rate.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Westgate. I was in San Diego for a conference and stayed at this hotel from Oct. 26 - 29th. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful with directions, parking, delivery of packages, booking of airport transportation. They have a gourmet shop on site that makes sandwiches to go for your flight -... More

My husband and I stayed at the Westgate for our first wedding anniversary. We were greeted by a fantastically helpful staff, and had a very easy check-in. I noticed a slightly musty smell when we walked into the grand lobby, but it wasn't a big deal. The staff gave us a complimentary upgrade to a room on the 17th floor... More

We recently stayed at the Westgate Hotel and it was amazing. Close to the Marina to walk and see all the boats, walking distance to so many great restaurants, close to large outdoor mall, etc. The rooms were large and quiet. The staff was amazing. Great to be able to pull down to the parking garage and have a valet... More

Arriving from the airport by hotel shuttle was quick and nice to have. The hotel charges $5 each way for shuttle service, but well worth $10 total for ground transportation (much cheaper than taxi). We arrived a little too early for check in, but the front desk secured our bags and had our cell number to notify us when the... More

This hotel has recently been renovated. It is very ornate and is centrally located in the Gaslight area of downtown San Diego. Rooms are large and quiet. Customer service is second to none.

I was very happy with the Westgate for my stay. The rooms are sizeable, with extremely comfortable beds. Good service, and the hotel is in a fantastic location in downtown San Diego. I walked to Petco Park for a Padres game, and there are a great many restaurants and bars in easy walking distance. If you know downtown San Diego,... More
